Jennifer Craft has been with RE/MAX for years, and loves every minute of it.
She's not your typical real-estate agent either — unless most agents come with a bachelors degree in Biology and Microbiology and a master's degree in Human Genetics.
Before having four children, Jennifer worked with the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) in a serology lab testing for diseases. She also spent time teaching microbiology at Heartland Community College, and took part in genetics research at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, where she also worked in its chromosome laboratory. While it might not sound like the prerequisites for selling homes, teaching and helping others has been something Jennifer has always done. And real estate is just another way she can serve her community.
Jennifer moved to Junction City in 1999, where her husband David eventually opened a local dental practice. This being his hometown, it was an easy choice on where to settle and raise a family. Jennifer is originally from Illinois.
It was the flexibility of real estate that first peaked Jennifer's interest. With the changes in her own life — becoming a busy mom of four quickly growing children, a transition in her career seemed like the right thing to do for her family.
"I've always been interested in the housing market. I love looking at other people's homes and their different styles," Jennifer says. "I love being able to help a family find a house that matches their needs and desires. I especially love helping first-time-home buyers. They need extra time and attention so they don't get overwhelmed — and to make sure they feel prepared for such a big investment. I also like to help homeowners in need. I have helped many people avoid foreclosure by going through a short sale. It's very tedious work, but very rewarding and well worth my time and effort."
