The Kansas City Music Hall is located at 301 West 13th Street, downtown Kansas City. It is a gorgeous Art Deco style theater that was built in 1936. Just some spectacular architecture and such a fun time!

My husband and I gave each other season tickets a few years ago to celebrate our anniversary. The shows are Broadway quality. We have been going for years and I can say, I probably only saw one that I didn't love. They have bars on each floor for cocktails beforehand, coffee and snacks. Easy to park across the street in the auditorium garage. If you leave right after the show and bolt to your car, you can make it to Johnson County in 20 minutes! How lucky we are here in Kansas City to have such a gem!

One of the fun things to do in Kansas City are season tickets for the Kansas City Broadway Series. The Theatre League brings in wonderful shows each year. Some productions are at the beautiful Music Hall, with its art deco era décor, while some shows are at the very modern Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts. How lucky we are here in KC to have such wonderful theatre and arts!

The Kauffman Center for The Performing Arts is an absolutely beautiful building. The Kauffman Theatre is the home of the Kansas City Ballet and Lyric Opera of Kansas City. The Helzberg Hall is home of the Kansas City Symphony. No matter if you are seeing a Kansas City favorite or another performance featured at the Kauffman Center the experience will be a memory of a lifetime. It is a must see in Kansas City! One Light at 13 & Walnut is a luxury apartment high rise. Monthly rent ranges from $900-$3,400. All but two of the 24 penthouse units already have deposits on them. The rest of the 315 units have over 1,000 people on a waiting list and the JE Dunn project is not expected to be complete until November of 2015. At least four more luxury apartments are expected to be built inside the downtown loop. Downtown is really waking up. Coveted places like The Wallstreet Towers, Union Carbide, 21 Ten and the 909 Walnut Condos are all very popular condos in that area.

After 65 years running and the claim to fame of being the birth place of the KC Strip, the Golden Ox is packing it up. Many of us born and raised Kansas Citians have distinct memories of enjoying a fabulous meal there before or after heading to Kemper Arena for a concert. Rumor has it, they are planning on turning it into an entertainment venue.

The West Side has been coming alive recently and is the place to keep your eye on in KC. Jarboe's Addition, Summit at Sixteenth, King and Bouton's, Payne's Addition and Mulkey's Addition are all hot places to live. Visit the West Bottoms and see the new businesses and living space it has to offer.

The streetcar will extend from the River Market through Union Station, and the rail line will consist of 800 tons of rail. As an Urban Core dweller for the past 15 years, I can attest that Downtown continues to evolve and is an ideal place in which to live. With a Walk Score of 86, you can ditch your car and accomplish much on foot. Why not get fit and explore what Downtown has to offer at the same time?
  • DUH!!!! Like OOOOO MMMMMM GGGGG. This is where the teens go to see the BIEBER, the ladies go to see the Ken "The Tin Man" Chesney, and the guys.... well, we pay for it all. As for right now, the Sprint Center does not have a professional sports team. Sigh!!!!!
