The Kansas City Negro League Baseball Museum is a non-profit organization that was opened in 1990. This attraction is a tribute to some of the best unknown players in baseball history. While walking through the museum, you will learn of some amazing stories that highlight the difficulty these baseball players faced and the hardships they endured and had to overcome. You will learn a lot about the early segregation of baseball and be able to view some old films that highlight the challenges that these talented African-American players faced on a regular basis.

It really doesn't get much better than this to get around the heart of Kansas City! In Kansas City we are fortunate enough to have a city that has provided us with free street car transportation that runs from the River Market to the north and Union Station/Crown Center to the south. The street car provides transportation to connect all the downtown neighborhoods by offering 16 platform stops on the two miles of street car track.

I have taken the street car many times and have met people from all across the United States. The common theme I hear from them is how nice it is that our city provides us with the KC Street Car transportation at no charge and how clean the street cars are. If you haven't had a chance to take advantage of this wonderful transportation, you need to do so!

I highly recommend checking out this new coffee spot on Broadway. The atmosphere is clean and sleek with a retro classy vibe. They use top-notch coffee beans and offer creative drinks that are beautifully yet simply presented. I highly recommend trying their tumeric latte as well for a non-coffee option. Be sure to check out their seasonal menu and try something new!

To celebrate all things Irish, several cities in the Kansas City area have Snake Saturday parades on the Saturday before St Patrick's Day. Fun filled experiences for all, with floats, bands, clowns, and more. Weather looks beautiful for tomorrow also, so it's a great way to spend a couple hours outside with friends and family.
  • This looks like fun! It's been happening for a while, the first weekend of each month, and is growing, so that more warehouses are included. Several warehouses in the historic West Bottoms open up on the first weekend of each month. Shop for those vintage and antique items that are so hard to find elsewhere. The warehouses restock each month, so we can go every month!
  • Another fun event at Union Station - Uncorked Wine Festival on March 3. Sample wines from over 50 wineries, and paired appetizers too. What a great festival!
  • Great event this weekend at Bartle Hall - KC Auto Show. See the newest models and the classic cars too. This looks like fun!

Downtown Kansas City is up and coming and the city has done an amazing job of turning it around. With growth and development everywhere there is something for everyone. From the Kansas City Power and Light District to Municipal Auditorium and the Music Hall there is always something going on in Downtown KC. The Kansas City Music Hall is located at 301 West 13th Street, downtown Kansas City. It is a gorgeous Art Deco style theater that was built in 1936. Just some spectacular architecture and such a fun time!

My husband and I gave each other season tickets a few years ago to celebrate our anniversary. The shows are Broadway quality. We have been going for years and I can say, I probably only saw one that I didn't love. They have bars on each floor for cocktails beforehand, coffee and snacks. Easy to park across the street in the auditorium garage. If you leave right after the show and bolt to your car, you can make it to Johnson County in 20 minutes! How lucky we are here in Kansas City to have such a gem!

Some productions are at the beautiful Music Hall, with its art deco era décor, while some shows are at the very modern Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts. How lucky we are here in KC to have such wonderful theatre and arts!
