Liberty is a city located in Clay County, Missouri and is also considered a suburb of Kansas City, Missouri.     Did you know that Liberty Parks and Rec offers group swim lessons even in the winter? Learning to swim is a life skill that all ages should develop. Lessons are available either on Monday and Wednesdays, Tuesday and Thursdays or on Saturdays. 6 month to 2 1/2 years start out in Aqua Tot then advance to Parent & Tot until age 5. Novice, advanced Novice, Intermediate and Developmental Stroke, (which is skill based) apply to all ages after that. This is a safe and fun environment to develop swimming competency, confidence and endurance.

Rosemarie Von Fintel will be teaching dog obedience classes based on the Canine Good Citizen Program from the American Kennel Club. Rosemarie has more than 20 years of training dogs and will show you proven techniques to benefit both you and your pet.

    Opening this weekend, September 15th, the Liberty Corn Maze is ready for some more outdoor fall fun. Bring the family out to enjoy their new maze this year, highlighting the KC Current, our hometown women's professional soccer team.     The City of Liberty will test a new app-based rideshare service provided by the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority, RideCo, and zTrip. Rides within the Liberty city limits are $3.00. Rides to the airport are $10.00.

    This pilot program will run from September 1- November 30, with rides available from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., seven days a week. This service is an effort to expand access to cost-effective transportation options within the KC region. Paratransit services will also be for individuals using wheelchairs and riders traveling with their bikes.
