My wife and I almost became permanent residents of Clinton Pointe when the last house was being built and we were shopping for our home. Our children were going to school across Clinton Parkway at Raintree Montessori and one priority was to be in the Sunflower Elementary and Southwest Middle School boundary...preferably walking distance. This neighborhood is west of the old Alvamar golf course and has a neighborhood swimming pool at the center of it. Many of our friends live there and when my kids want to have an overnight, quite often I am taking them to see a friend in the Clinton Pointe neighborhood.

    Clinton Pointe Subdivision
Clinton Pointe is a neighborhood in West Lawrence, part of the area that is generally thought of as Alvamar. The homes of Clinton Pointe make up the entirety of Rodeo Drive and is connected to the larger Alvamar area by Wimbledon Drive. Sitting atop a hill on the north side of Clinton Parkway, these houses rise just enough over the surrounding area to command some spectacular views of the southwestern edge of town, out towards Clinton Lake and the Wakarusa River Valley, and further down toward the hills in rural Douglas County.

The homes here run from $250,000 up to $375,000. Nearby K-10 provides easy commuting access, and for the golf lover there's the Alvamar Country Club. Schools are Sunflower Elementary, Southwest Middle School, and Lawrence High School. This neighborhood took a mild hit from the tornado in May of 2003, but the damage was minimal, and the area quickly recovered.
