To this day, West Hills is still my wife's favorite area after walking through it everyday 20 years ago in college. West Hills subdivision is geographically located between Iowa Street/59 Highway and the west side of the University of Kansas; south of 9th Street and north of 15th Street. Hillcrest Elementary school and the only side of KU where you aren't walking up a hill are close. The neighborhood has a wonderful established feel with tree lined streets and many owners live here for decades. Judges, professors, attorneys, business owners and distinguished state of Kansas appointees all live here. The West Hills Homes Association outlaws any rentals and is probably the only Lawrence subdivision to consistently enforce it. This is a great place to live which makes it tough to find a house for sale.
