The gorgeous fall colors are starting to peak! One of my favorite ways to take this in is to take a ride on the Katy Trail! Don't have a good bike to ride? Not a problem! Red Wheel Bike Shop is now located near Capitol Building and near the Bike Bridge to cross Missouri River Bridge to access Katy Trail Route! Also, a train ride to Hermann is an inexpensive way to soak up the sites of the Midwest in full fall glory, and great food and events are offered in Hermann in abundance this time of year! We're happy to help point you in the right direction if not sure where event schedules are.

Riverside Park already has so much to offer with newer playground equipment and spacious acres of open rolling fields for kids to run and play. Rubber tread has replaced the old ground mulch. There is a gorgeous river view overlook, open air amphitheater, softball/baseball fields, and now the swimming pool has multiple upgrades!! Already the most spacious for lap/open swimming but it now has a new slide, toddler frog slide that my boys just love, sprinkler shower flowers and more! The size and layout of the pool make it convenient to be near and have a watchful eye on the kiddos and also offers plenty of lounge chairs! They also offer lockers for storage, snack shop and host theme parties throughout the year! Our favorite is the Pirate Pool Party! It's always a blast!

Lincoln University's Farmers' Market has returned to the streets of downtown Jefferson City, offering locally-grown produce and products to the community. The farmers' market holds a wide selection of vegetables, fruit, candies, handmade items such as candles and soaps and more! Visit East High Street (in front of the Cole County Court House) to browse the marketplace on Saturdays!

On April 7th, 2015 Jefferson City elected Carrie Tergin for Mayor! I love living in Jefferson City but I'm even more excited to be a member of this community now! Carrie Tergin is going to be an amazing Mayor for our community and I can't wait to see what she has planned!

Fischer Farms Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze is a family farm located in North Jefferson City. They have a 10-acre corn maze, animals, (Clydesdale horses, pigs, rabbits, calves, turkeys, chickens, etc.), hayrides, fresh produce (when in season), 40+ acre pumpkin patch, squash, gourds, straw, mums, and corn stalks. This is a great fall activity to enjoy with family and friends.

Fischer Farms is open Friday 4:00-9:00 pm; Saturday 12:00-9:00 pm; Sunday 12:00-6:00 pm. Field Trips are available Monday-Thursday by appointment only. The Farm is located at 1905 Mokane Road (take Jefferson City Airport exit, go past Hoods (TNT), take a left onto Mokane Road (old bottom road by the Jeff City Sandplant), go 1.5 miles and the farm is on the left).

Admission for the corn maze with farm activities (straw maze, hayrides, 250 bushel corn box, animals) is $6 per person (2 and under free). Admission for farm activities only (without corn maze) is $3.00 per person (2 & under are free). Don't miss fall at Fischer Farms!

I love the weather in the fall! The scenery is beautiful. There are so many places to see and activities in and around Jefferson City. There is something for everyone!

Jefferson City's Southside has been getting a face-lift recently and is affectionately named Old Munichburg. The historic area is home to restaurants, shops and homes that still reflect the early 19th century architecture.

Jefferson City has close ties with the Lewis and Clark Expedition. Not only did the expedition pass through our capital city in June, 1804, but Jefferson City is also named after the president who commissioned Lewis and Clark. A lot of history can be learned simply by taking a stroll around the Capitol building grounds.

Jefferson City Parks and Recreation has a wide variety of events that you can get involved with. You have your basic local baseball and softball leagues, but maybe you are in the mood for something a little out of the ordinary. One example is the Capital City Sailing Association which offers sailing classes at Binder Lake on the west side of town.

Warmer weather means longer days, greener grass and of course outdoor events. Jefferson City’s downtown really comes alive when the sun burns a little hotter. Every Thursday night is a street festival filled with live music, local business specials and fun.

In the mood for some thespian entertainment. The Miller Performing Arts Center keeps a busy schedule of musicals and orchestra performances. A complete schedule is easily accessible through their website.

Parks and walking trails are a great way to spend a beautiful spring day in the capitol city. The great part is you always have a park close to you. With 17 parks to choose from you always have a place to enjoy nature in Jefferson City.

The North Jefferson Dog park is a wonderful place to “Let Go Of The Leash” and allow your pup to run! With two parks, one for small dogs and one for large dogs, your pooch is sure to have a good time!

With temperatures nearly hitting the record high (60's) this past Sunday the real estate market has picked up! We're seeing a huge increase in showing activity, buyer requests, and new listings! With a population of about 40,000, Jefferson City is the perfect size! You can meet new people or run into someone you know on a daily basis. Jefferson City is located on the bluffs of the Missouri River. The economy remains very stable since we have the state government, some industry, farming and tourism. A quiet neighborhood close to Moreau Heights school and the public golf course recently celebrated the only Little Free Library in Jefferson City. The LFL was started in 2009 by Todd Bols in Wisconsin as a tribute to his mother, a retired school teacher and took off from there. There are now 12,000 located around the world. The idea is simple: Take a Book, Give a Book with the hopes of encouraging reading and giving readers a venue to trade books for free. There are no fees or obligations for a book - they are free for the taking. Another upside is bringing people together as they meet at the little "houses". Response has been favorable and just as it was with Leslie when she first heard about it, others want to place one in front of their homes. Leslie already has visions of adding a 2 story addition to hers with all the books waiting for room to be added.
