I visited this past weekend with my family to pick our Christmas trees out, and was blown away by how cute this place was! All of the trees are hanging up outside, allowing you to really see them and pick out a good one. The inside is stockpiled with all sorts of holiday decor, most of it ranging from 25 to 50% off, and even has a couch with a backdrop you can take pictures on once you're shopped out. We had an opportunity to speak with the owner, Kevin, who started his business when he was just a kid. He is a really nice guy if you should bump into him! Family-run, locally owned, and full of Christmas cheer. I don't see a reason to get your tree anywhere else!

There is a lot of history at the Grinter Place Home! In the 1800s, the Grinter Place was a trading post for furs, food, and ammunition. The ferry that ran along the famous Delaware crossing was used extensively by travelers over the Fort Leavenworth - Fort Scott military road and by traders, freighters, and soldiers traveling between the forts or to Santa Fe. This place was known as Military or Delaware Crossing. The Grinters farmed and raised poultry and livestock. They also planted an apple orchard on their farmstead. The two-story brick home they built still stands to this day and is the oldest home in Wyandotte County. This little community spot offers festivals several times a year and also hosts parties and weddings for people in the community...A great area to buy a home for your family!

Rosedale Park is a great park for people of all interests. The park has a playground, tennis courts, a skate park, baseball fields, and two different disc golf courses! It is located in Kansas City Kansas right next to the state line. The disc golf courses are some of the best in the Kansas City area, with the "up top" being more open and "down under" being wooded and technical. If you are ever in the area this park is a must.

  • KC Bowl, previously named Ranch Bowl, has been around since before I was born! I grew up at this bowling alley and remember participating in leagues every Wednesday and Sunday. The arcade was always a great place to hang out and blow some money. The snack bar always had the best pickles and cosmic bowling on Friday and Saturday nights were always a hit!
