It's probably been reviewed hundreds of times but we love the Kansas City Zoo! We have been taking the kids there since they were babies. And now we can let the older ones take off and explore on their own. And still, the first thing they hit every time is the carousel.

I am so excited about the new aquarium being built at the center of the zoo! Even though there's construction happening, they still have everything accessible and easy to get to. We renewed our annual pass, less expensive if you live in Jackson County, for about $167 for the year through next May. For a family of six, it costs at least that for a day pass when you include the carousel, sky-tram, etc. There are food and snack areas all around. They are on the expensive side for what you get, but you can always bring lunch in with you. Overall, we have always loved the KC Zoo. I think even after the kids grow up and leave, my wife and I will still be hitting that carousel every now and then!

I included the YouTube Live Penguin link below.

I have had the pleasure of dining at Eddie V's twice on double dates with Andy. The experiences were super, the atmosphere was exquisite, the service was wonderful and the food was divine. We love to be treated and use valet services, especially while eating on the Plaza because parking is always tricky. The Hope Diamond specialty cocktail is so delish and very fancy with its colors and flare. My favorite salad is the Warm Goat Cheese Salad; it's one of a kind. My go-to for an entree is the Chilean Sea Bass with a side of family-style Pan Seared Brussel Sprouts. Give it a try and let me know what your favorite items come to be!!! Enjoy!

While you are shopping on the Country Club Plaza, make time to visit JJ's right in the south section. It offers an open bar area, a full outside patio for warmer days, heat lamps, and a full dining room with a relaxing aura. My favorite starter is the Ahi Tuna served over avocado crispy won ton and served with a spicy sweet and sour sauce that's made in-house. For lunch, my go-to is the Meatball Duo served with delicious marinara and shaved Parmigiano Reggiano. My favorite for dinner is Medallions Au Poivre and a side of Blistered Balsamic Brussel Sprouts which is to die for. Whichever route you go, you won't be disappointed and always satisfied. Tell them I sent you and make plans to go!!!

Cascone's is located off North Oak Trafficway and is one of my all-time favorite Italian places to dine. Cascone's is a super spot for a date night, birthday celebration, or just a lazy Saturday afternoon lunch. My go-to for lunch is Jennie's Cascone's Cannelloni. It's a baked pasta crepe filled with ricotta cheese and spicy Italian sausage and topped with a delish sugo red sauce. For dinner, my go-to is their famous Chicken Spiedini toasted lightly breaded with Modiga then grilled with Lemon-Garlic Amogio and served with spaghetti. Whatever you get, you'll have a very enjoyable experience and relax in their ambiance. For location and hours of operation see the link below.

Here in the Midwest, we are football fans. How could you not be with such an amazing and humble team, the Kansas City Chiefs? From our head coach, Andy Reid, our MVP, Patrick Mahomes, who's our quarterback, and our Best in the League tight end, Travis Kelce. Such a fun and talented team to follow on and off the field! This team is the most humble and giving team in the nation. Mahomes is the MVP once again in the AFC. This duo has been in the playoffs for the last five years and is headed to becoming a Dynasty. Check them out! Go Chiefs!

Up-Down is an arcade bar in downtown Kansas City, packed with a full bar, pinball machines, skee ball, and tons of arcade games from the 80s and 90s. My personal favorites are frogger, donkey kong, and playing Mario Kart on the Nintendo 64 right when you walk in. Don't forget to try a piece of Mac-and-Cheese pizza while you're there!
  • I ended up hanging out with some friends at the new Hawaiian Bros because it was right next to Macy's and it didn't disappoint! All the workers there were really friendly, and the food was out within a few minutes of ordering! Would definitely recommend it.
