Lee’s Summit, Missouri is the sixth largest city in the Kansas City Metro area with a population of 91,364. It was ranked 27th in the 2010 Money magazine 100 Best Cities to Live in the United States. Three public school districts serve the children of the city, Lee’s Summit School District, Blue Springs School District and Raymore Peculiar School District. The Lee’s Summit School District was among 16 percent of the nation's school districts receiving the SchoolMatch "What Parents Want" national award in spring 2012. Longview Community College, Summit Technology Center, a branch of the University of Central Missouri and a branch of Baker University all provide opportunities for higher education in Lee’s Summit.
The weather is currently amazing and just in time for the opening of the Lee's Summit Farmer's Market. Opening day is Wednesday, April 7th from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The Farmer's Market will be held weekly on Wednesdays at 2nd street and Douglas as well as Saturdays at Abundant Life Church. The Saturday opening will be April 10th from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Fresh food including honey, baked goods, produce, and more will be found here. There are 10 local vendors on Wednesdays and 36 local vendors on Saturdays. Hand sanitation stations will be provided. The Farmer's Market will be held open each Wednesday and Saturday until mid-November so stop by during the nice weather and support local vendors and good tasting food.
