    Paola is hosting the Ottawa High Varsity and Junior Varsity softball teams. The complex in Paola has four fields that are Astroturf with great fencing and paved walkways. It's a great place to gather and watch a softball game!
  • Located in the rolling hills of Paola, Somerset Ridge Winery is a family-owned vineyard and winery. My husband and I have found Somerset Ridge to be one of the best kept Miami County secrets! They have handcrafted, premium wines from Kansas grown grapes. Their wines are also sold in retail stores, but I would certainly recommend stopping in at the winery!
  • Spring is here and that means it's almost the perfect weather to enjoy a show at The Midway Drive-In Located between Paola and Osawatomie (29591 W. 327th Street), it's easily accessed from all directions. The drive-in opens Memorial weekend. Prices (new as of 2014): 12 & older = $10, 3-11 = $2 and kids under 3 are free!

    If fishing is your bag, bring your pole and come on down. Bass, crappie, wipers, bluegill, catfish, sunfish, saugeye, walleye and wipers populate the lake. Whether you are bringing your RV or pitching a tent, great camp sites are available. Recent improvements for campers include a new bathroom and shower house plus expanded electrical and sewer hookups. A camp host is available during the summer months.

    Each July 4th, the Paola Chamber of Commerce holds their annual fireworks display here. Originally built in the 1950's, the lake and grounds are well maintained and continue to be enjoyed by many. Beautiful homes on spacious lots surround the lake and are occasionally available.

    While here, be sure to take advantage of our fine restaurants, historic town square and unique shopping. Lake Miola is Paola's largest park and is located just east of 299th Street and Hedge Lane Road. Lake Miola is just one of many reasons that Paola is a fun place to visit and a great place to live.
  • Welcome to Paola, the county seat of Miami County. We offer small town life within a half hour drive from the big city. A great place to start your visit would be the town square. Years ago, Indian tribes utilized these grounds as their primary gathering place. The gazebo on the square is still used for weddings and other events. Next to the gazebo is a bust featuring Paola's founder, Baptiste Peoria and his wife, Mary Ann Isaacs Dagenet. This is the only known monument in the United States to feature a Native American and his wife. Just off the square are great locally owned businesses including an afternoon full of famous antique stores and unique restaurants.

    Paola offers great choices for shopping, recreation and entertainment. During the heat of summer, cool off at the aquatic center or visit an old fashioned ice cream shoppe. Summer and Fall events include the County Fair in July, the Roots Festival in August and the Harvest Festival in October. Wallace Park hosts a number of these events plus other attractions such as a skateboard park, playgrounds, sporting events, nature trails, picnic areas and more. Each winter heralds the Christmas tree lighting ceremony, Santa's arrival and carriage rides. If golf is your game, the Paola Country Club offers 9 holes of golf, a pool and a club house with fine dining.

    Paola is a great place to raise a family. Cottonwood, Sunflower and Hillsdale Elementary Schools will give your kids a great start before they move on to the Paola Middle and High Schools.
