  • Congrats to Park Hill High School for its ranking as the 6th best high school in Missouri, according to U.S. News & World Report. Park Hill South was ranked 13th. Nationally, they were 749th and 1648th, respectively. National recognition like this, "Silver Medalists" demonstrates how well these institutions are preparing students for their higher education.

These rankings are based on the percentage of students who take and pass Advanced Placement exams as well as graduation rates. With Park Hill at 94 percent and Park Hill South at 95, both are higher than the national average.

The Park Hill District has purchased a parcel of land adjacent to Line Creek Trailhead on Gower, near 68th Street and Waukomis Drive for a new elementary school and a LEAD Innovation Studio. The school is scheduled to open in 2019.

Great schools bring growth - the entire Park Hill District needs to be recognized and applauded for their excellent and nationally recognized work!

  • "The newest school in the Park Hill School District; Tiffany Ridge Elementary which is located at 5301 Old Tiffany Springs Road, and opened in August, 2012, is among five (yes, five) buildings adding temporary mobile units next school year."

An expected spike in enrollment for the upcoming 2016-2017 school year is forcing the district to "temporarily" expand in a mobile unit way. The other schools on the list include Chinn Elementary, Congress Middle, Plaza Middle, and Park Hill High.

Last school year (2014-2015) the district's enrollment grew by two percent. Based on the growing enrollment and construction of single family and multi-family unit housing, school officials expect this growth trend to continue. The result is strain on existing facilities and desired student-to-teacher ratios.

  • For the third year in a row, the Park Hill School District is planning on offering a full-day summer school program at no cost.

The objective is to prevent a downward slide of learning that can often occur in those summer months when the students are away from their learning regimens. Again, it is being offered to children pre-kindergarten through high school age for five weeks and a seven hour school day. The proposed program includes complimentary bus transportation to students enrolled.

Start times will vary based on school location, with some beginning their day at 7:45 a.m., and others at 8:45. The elementary and middle summer schools will begin on May 31st and run through July 1st.

The high school summer program will be divided into two four and a half hour sessions, allowing students to earn up to one credit during the summer. Their first session will also start on May 31st and run until June 20th. The second session will begin on June 21st and run until July 12th.

The $2.1 million summer school program is 100% state funded, so the district incurs no costs.

Breakfast and lunch will be offered to students at the same rate they are offered throughout the regular school year.

For the 9th year in a row, the Park Hill School District has won the Meritorious Budget Award. Funding in the Park Hill Schools is supported more by local than state dollars. The district, through continuous improvement, is striving for the best. This is just one way to ensure our tax dollars are being spent wisely and efficiently to bring the best to our students.

The Association of School Business Officials International (ASBO) requires districts to adhere to strict standards for good fiscal management. Dr. Paul Kelly, assistant superintendent for business and technology, with support from the business services team, prepares the budget according to these exacting standards each year. Through demonstration of effective use of tax dollars in a user-friendly format we have achieved this high ranking status.

Being a part of a district that strives to bring the best for our life-long learners while maintaining good use of funds makes Park Hill School District one of the top ranked in the state.
