I visited Jowler Creek Winery with friends for the first time. It is Missouri's first green winery and is located in Platte City, approximately 30 minutes north of Downtown Kansas City, Missouri, and 20 minutes south of St. Joseph, Missouri just off of Interstate 29 near Weston, Missouri. Their seasonal drink right now is the caramel apple sangria and it is delicious! You can either order it by the glass or in a refillable growler. They also sell little kits so you can make it at home! You can either enjoy your drinks in the tasting room or outside on the covered patio.

Wells Bank of Platte City recently donated their building on 3rd and Main to The Farmers House.
The Farmers House serves youth and adults with developmental disabilities. It's great that we have these resources in our town and so great that Wells Bank of Platte City provided The Farmers House with the wonderful donation of a building. Wells Bank recently moved out of that building downtown on Main street and moved up on the hill on Branch Street.

I love this trail. I hop on it right in Summit Way just steps from my front door. This trail is 7.8 miles long and winds around Platte City neighborhoods and countryside of Platte County. It meets up with most of the communities/subdivisions in the community.

I can walk to the grocery store, hardware store, pharmacy, YMCA, restaurants and schools. The cool thing is that I can take off and see the country and the wildlife and enjoy the cows if I like.

    Enjoy!

What a wonderful experience it is to take the family out to Aldredge Farms during this time of year! The kids are sure to love the experience. You and the family can go out to the apple trees, pick apples, go on hay rides, go to the pumpkin patch, select a pumpkin, and play on plenty of kids scapes! It is a great learning experience for the children, learning what it really looks like when an apple is growing from a tree, and that they don't just magically appear at the grocery! Go on out there while the apples and pumpkins are still there, and enjoy!
  • Those of us that live in Platte City have a network of walking trails that we utilize. The latest improvement is linking walking trails from Hills of Oakmont, Lakes at Oakmont, New Bedford Falls and Timber Creek to the main trail into the Parks and Recreation Land. This is going to be a great addition as it will connect several trails together for better and safer access.
