Brandon Woods retirement center has long been a successfully run property for senior citizens in Lawrence. The main facility and amenities are outstanding and the staff is very passionate. It is one of the only properties owned by the ownership group that has private property - which are the duplexes. In my opinion they are quality built and the location is excellent. The problem is in the requirement that the Director of Sales find the buyer(s) and transact them for a high commission. I believe property owners/families continue to pay the monthly center dues through this process. It has long been a struggle for area realtors to bring buyers to sellers and get paid. In fact, I recently transacted one directly from a seller to a buyer without Brandon Woods being in the middle.
