Edgewood Park is one of the neighborhoods that makes up a good portion of East Lawrence. Bordered by Haskell Avenue to the west, the Douglas County Fairgrounds to the east, and 15th Street and Lawrence Memorial Park Cemetery to the north, the neighborhood includes the park that shares its name. Mostly built in the 1950's and 1960's, Edgewood Park is one of the most affordable neighborhoods in town, with home values rarely going over $150,000. Nevertheless, most homes here are well cared for, and there is plenty of recreation all around.

Besides the nearby fairgrounds and its parks, Edgewood Park is home to the East Lawrence Recreation Center which was remodeled in the 1990's and remains a popular destination for many residents of the eastern portion of town. Kennedy Elementary School is nearby, and it's not far to Central Middle School as well. Since it lies south of 15th Street, students in Edgewood Park attend Lawrence High School.
