Just driving through Brentwood, it's pretty easy to see the beautiful character of the neighborhood. Brentwood happens to be one of my favorite communities in Springfield. Whether I'm walking my Brittany Spaniel or just driving around looking at the amazing architecture, I always find new things to see. I could easily come up with 50 reasons I love living in Brentwood, but I'll start off with just five.

1. The Shopping - If you're anything like me, you enjoy spending money. The Brentwood Shopping Center has something for everyone! The Market was voted "Best Places to Buy Gifts" in the 417 Magazine. The owners describe it as a department store with a boutique twist. Upon entering you'll immediately notice a beautifully curated showroom with just about anything you'd ever want in your home. Don't worry guys, the HIM store might have what you need, from outdoor apparel to dressing up. Kent the owner has an eye unlike any other, his unique twist on a boutique for men is refreshing and satisfying. If you have an hour or more to kill, walk through the Shopping Center, and spend some money with these amazing local businesses!

2. Schweitzer Brentwood Branch Library - While this library serves all of Southeast Springfield, it sits nicely at 2214 Brentwood Blvd. The library has been a fixture of the neighborhood since 1970, and is so beloved by the people in the community its often referred to as "My Library." If you're someone who loves the 70s ranch style, the Schweitzer Brentwood Branch Library has all the classic calling cards from the amazing roofline to the brick exterior. The building was also updated with an addition and all of the latest tech in 2016, but don't worry patrons and staff made sure to keep the building to its original design. It surely will be a fixture for another 50 years.

3. Food - Brunch is easy in this neighborhood. Farmers Gastropub has unique food items for anyone and this traditional English pub has no downside. Don't forget to enjoy some fresh air on their huge outdoor patio!

4. Night Life - I could have easily included Cellar + Plate on the food section, however it really starts popping around 7 pm. This quaint little Wine Bar has so many things to offer, it often has multiple forms of entertainment such as piano players, drag shows, and live music. The food items include Tapas. Cellar + Plate has an incredible young Chef that continues to pump out amazing specials every weekend. The staff constantly befriends new patrons and will make you feel right at home.

5. The Community - Brentwood is one of those places where you wave or smile when driving or walking by. While Brentwood boasts some of the most beautiful houses in Springfield, the whole neighborhood has a distinctly architectural feel. You can tell how proud the people are to live there. Yards are well manicured and you can always expect to see tasteful Christmas decorations.
