    Phelps Grove Park Subdivision
The Phelps Grove neighborhood is full of alluring history. The area has changed hands and purposes multiple times. It was once the location of the lavish Colonial Hotel which was frequented by politicians and rock stars. The Colonial was owned by the Heers and Lander families, until it eventually became the site of the Springfield Public Zoo.

Now Phelps Grove boasts one of the largest and most well-kept parks in Springfield. The park itself measures upwards of 30 acres and has amenities such as playgrounds, picnic areas, covered seating, tennis courts, and lots of walking trails! If you have a moment to walk through the gorgeous park, you'll notice how loving the residents of the community are to their park. It seems to me that most of the community can be seen walking the extensive trails. After taking my time strolling through the park and snapping a picture of anything I found to be appealing, I made my way over to the Springfield Art Museum. The Springfield Art Museum is constantly hosting different exhibitions from local artists and always has something new to look at.

The Phelps Grove Neighborhood has so many interactive activities going on, but my favorite thing is the hospitality of the neighborhood. Everyone is happy to live near such a beautiful park and museum. The residents will definitely welcome visitors. If you get the chance to stroll around and enjoy the scenery, make sure to wave and smile at the residents walking the trails.
