Do you know about State Farm Insurance in Blue Springs? It seems like many of us know about insurance agents, but how many of us actually know someone who has invested in their community for decades and continues to invest in the next generation by bringing in some bold young employees who work to understand our needs for insurance in 2017 and beyond? Agent, John Hardy at State Farm Insurance office in Blue Springs is one such agent who continues to offer great service and is willing to grow with the times.

Isn't this what Insurance is...a tool to manage the risks of life we encounter? And who doesn't want to realize their dreams? Someone once said "life happens." Perhaps this is why everyone needs to know a great insurance agent and office. I am thankful for insurance offices and agents like this right here in our community.

It was almost humorous how many times I was reminded (or reminded my children) not to look directly at the sun today. As silly and as obvious the instruction may have been, because under normal circumstances no one would, it was actually a very important instruction to have pounded into our brains as we prepared for today's total eclipse. Blue Springs was among the lucky cities that got to see the sun completely vanish for a brief moment at the peak of the day, and I am so thankful for the teachers and staff who were there to guide the children through the once in a lifetime event.

The whole experience reminds me of my first few deals as a realtor; I was licensed and well educated, but there is no way I could have gotten through them without the guidance and support of a professional team! There are things you just don't know when you are doing something for the first time. Period. That is why I love helping first time home buyers. I love the enthusiasm for the process, the challenge of guiding them through the new hurdles, and the joy that is nearly overwhelming as they finalize their first purchase. You can only buy your first home once. I hope when you do, you have a knowledgeable professional by your side. Just like the teachers in the Blue Springs school district who helped my son make an amazing memory today; one that he will remember for the rest of his life.

  • Here's our top 5 things to do in the Blue Springs area! These include visiting Main Street, Rotary Park, Blue Springs Lake Marina, Burr Oaks Nature Center, and Blue Springs 8. We love this place and grew up here.
  • Here's a quick video review of our of our favorite places to eat here locally. It's McAllister's Deli but it happens to be in Independence! It's clean and the food is great. Hope you stop by and try it. Enjoy!
  • In this fun video review, Christina and I take a break from work and go try Andy's Frozen Custard. Andy's is one of my family's favorite places for tasty custard, but I have a little bit of trouble with it. Take a look.
  • In this episode of The Blue Springs Showcase, we visited The Pizza Shoppe on Main Street in Blue Springs. The Pizza Shoppe embodies the entire feel of what's happening on Main Street. It's classic, has character and history, but the inside is decorated and current. Visit the link below to see what we thought about it.
  • Here's a quick review on one of our new favorite places! It's called Pizza MOD in the Adams Dairy Landing here in Blue Springs. If you haven't tried out this amazing pizza, watch our video review below and go check it out!
  • Here's a quick insight on a new place we tried out just down the road from our office. It's called Bethlehem Cafe & it's a Mid Eastern style food. Bethlehem Cafe is located at 1512 NW Woods Chapel Road in Blue Springs. The review on this one was slightly mixed.

The Chicken Shawarma was a little bit too much for one of us, but the Beef Gyro was really good. It was a nice change of pace from the food we normally eat. Our server was fantastic, talkative knowledgeable about the food and culture behind it. Bethlehem Cafe also has a very unique design inside. I love it when places decorate their walls to go along with the whole theme of the place. It really felt like you were sitting in a Mediterranean restaurant.
  • Here's a fun insight for one of our favorite places to go get a snack. Because where do you go when it's Tarzan hot? Culvers!

This is every dog owners dream! You can wash your car and your dog at the same place! No need to bring soaps or flea and tick treatments. There is a wonderful cleaning station with a great ramp to help get your dog in the tank. You can clean your dog as cheap as $5. It normally costs me about $7. There is no getting on your knees, or cleaning your bathroom after you're done. And then go right around the corner to let your dog and children play at Blue Springs Park.

I just left Walmart Neighborhood Market. I was impressed. I'm not a Super Center Walmart fan at all. In fact, I would rather pay a little more to avoid it. The Walmart Neighborhood Market is at the corner of 7 Hwy and Duncan Rd. It has a little of everything; friendly staff and it's not over crowded with useless items! You should check it out; you won't be disappointed.

I am hearing some rave reviews about a new coffee shop tucked away in downtown Blue Springs. Located on 1120 NW Oak Street, it looks unique, beautiful, and comfortable ambience. It looks like it would be a wonderful place to meet friends or just take a book and relax. They have coffee cakes and a singer. I cannot wait to check it out and will definitely be updating her on my agent insight!
