You've seen the bumper stickers that say "The worst day fishing beats the best day working?" Well, here's some terrific news for your young anglers. Students in and around Basehor can take advantage of the Bobcat fishing club to learn or improve fishing skills. Mentors captain the boats for students who compete at locations near and far. Some students even earn college scholarships. One student from the Klamm subdivision of Basehor earned a full-ride college scholarship PLUS a boat!

The club engages in community service projects and invites kids from other school districts to join, too, but membership may be limited based on the number of boats and boat captains taking part.
