It's the time of hustle, bustle, fun, family and friends but there are families in need. Think about giving back to our wonderful community and donate canned goods. If everyone would donate one canned item, we would be able to donate so much to help the Liberty Community Christmas Tree Commission. This program helps families and seniors in our area who need help during this time of year. Each recipient receives boxes of non-perishable food items, a variety of perishable goods and gifts for each child in the family. The goal is to provide for 400 households.

Drop off places are at Liberty School, as well as the St. James School and the Liberty Community Center. Food drive runs now, November 26th until November 30th.

Thank you in advance for your help and love for 2018.

  • Over Christmas break the Liberty Lady Jays went down to the KSA Events Holiday Tournament in Orlando, Florida. When they returned to Liberty they came back with a second place trophy from the Magenta bracket. They won two of three games they played, with one of the victories coming against the three time defending large class state champion of New York.

That is a big win for a team that has its eye's on winning a state championship.

Alexander Doniphan does a phenomenal job of getting their students and families involved with different events throughout the year. Last week they held their annual tailgate party which is lots of fun, great food, and good games! This year they held a chalk drawing contest for the families to compete in. The theme was Liberty High School Bluejays, Alexander Doniphan Dolphins, and Kansas City Royals! Of course, they told the kids make it your own! Thanks to all who put effort into making the tailgating a successful family event! Teachers and staff - thank you for what you do everyday to form our future.
