Daylight Saving is this weekend, and that means longer days and warmer weather! We can't wait for all that spring brings in the area - the farmer's market, high school baseball and track, graduations, and more. We are wishing our teams success this year, and a big Congratulations to the seniors graduating! In the meantime, don't forget to set your clocks ahead one hour on Saturday - if not, you're going to be late for church on Sunday.

  • What can you expect from Liberty School District? As a mother of four LHS graduates and a previous Liberty Learning Center owner, I can tell you the Liberty School District is focused solely on offering the highest educational experiences for their students.

All four of my children had very different learning styles and extracurricular interests. Liberty teachers met them where they were at and added to their toolbox of learning strategies to help them gain the education and prep for college they all benefited from.

I also had the opportunity to partner with the district's Early Educational Learning Center which services the youngest students prior to Kindergarten. I can't say enough about how early intervention and all the teachers in that program help set the cornerstone of learning for those future students.

All area districts have worked diligently over the past months to come up with a plan to get our kids all back into school or set up for success to learn virtually as we approach the 2020-21 school year. Liberty has rolled out their plans for elementary, middle, and high schools allowing families choices, and informing them of what they can expect with each option.

It's the time of hustle, bustle, fun, family and friends but there are families in need. Think about giving back to our wonderful community and donate canned goods. If everyone would donate one canned item, we would be able to donate so much to help the Liberty Community Christmas Tree Commission. This program helps families and seniors in our area who need help during this time of year. Each recipient receives boxes of non-perishable food items, a variety of perishable goods and gifts for each child in the family. The goal is to provide for 400 households.

Drop off places are at Liberty School, as well as the St. James School and the Liberty Community Center. Food drive runs now, November 26th until November 30th.

Thank you in advance for your help and love for 2018.
