    The Pleasant Hill R-III School District is located about 40 miles northeast of the Kansas City Metro area, in northeast Cass County. The district has a population of 8,300 patrons in a 75 square mile area.

    Pleasant Hill attracts individuals and families who are looking for a small-town feel, and a little country living, all while being close to big city amenities.

    The district is comprised of five schools, including, the Primary School (pre-Kindergarten-2nd Grade), the Elementary School (3-4th Grades), an Intermediate School (5-6 grades), a Middle School (7-8 Grades), and a High School (9-12 grades).

    In addition to the basic curriculum, students at the middle and high school level have the opportunity to explore a number of other subject areas each year including music, art, family and consumer science, drama, agriculture, and technology. They also have opportunities to participate in student government and after-school clubs and sports.

    The district has a 95% graduation rate and is rated in the top 1/3 of the "Best schools in Missouri" as well as the top 1/3 "Best teachers in the state of Missouri".

    I can't say enough good things about Pleasant Hill High School R- III in the small town of Pleasant Hill. My 18 year old will be graduating and is excited about "continuing his education". Principal Mr. Paul Canaan, Ed.D. runs a tight ship and he already knows most students by their first names after one short week. The school runs like clockwork. The staff is helpful, friendly and happy. My son feels secure, reassured, and self-confident, which certainly correlates into excitement for learning. I was apprehensive sending my son to a school where he would certainly stick out. But since the first day, when I dropped him off in the morning, he gives me a high five and marches right in the front door. I meet him in the evening after study group or football practice and he's excited to share what he's learned. Thank you Pleasant Hill High School R- III for providing a great place to raise kids, one of the best in the nation!
