It's that time of year to spread joy and come together as a community! The annual Cassville Christmas Parade is being held this year on December 1, 2018. The parade starts promptly at 6:00 p.m. and features local high school bands and businesses. There is also a contest for the best decorated float. Bring the kiddos! Lots of candy is tossed into the crowd!

Cassville Missouri is hosting it's 7th annual shopping event! It's a perfect way to kick off the holiday shopping season! Located on the square of downtown Cassville. Bring the kids! Santa will be there to take pictures and over 25 vendors will be there for all your Christmas shopping needs!

Each year on the last Saturday of the month Cassville hosts it's annual Chili and Salsa Cookoff. This is a fun event for all ages. This includes live entertainment, chili dog eating contest, and lots of food and craft vendors. Booths open at 8:00 a.m. while the contestants begin cooking their delicious chili's and salsas! Taste testing starts at noon and the public can purchase a taste testing kit for $3. Taste all you want at each booth, but be sure to vote for your favorite chili and salsa before the competition is over. Don't forget to vote for the best decorated booth, too. March 1st every year begins trout fishing season at Roaring River in Cassville. Anglers from all over come to our small community to fish for fun and sport. You will also see fathers with their sons and daughters. Not to mention mothers with their sons and daughters! It truly is a family affair that is enjoyed the same day each year, no matter what Mother Nature wants to throw at them. This year the morning started off at around 50 degrees and despite the higher water level, they came and enjoyed. Opening day of trout season starts the beginning of what we all hope to be a very prosperous and wonderful spring!

Cassville has such beautiful farm land! Just drive along the back roads or even the main highways and you will find it surrounding you. Beautiful rolling hills leading into level farm land. There is nothing more breathtaking!

Roaring River State Park is a great place to stay and visit. Each year thousands of people travel to the Cassville area to fish, camp, and hike at this beautiful park. Along with Trout fishing, there are hiking trails, caves, campsites, a store, and a restaurant to visit. Along the way there are many resorts to stay at, camp, or park your RV. One of them is Oakhill RV Park and Resort. They have full hookups, showers and laundry. The owners are so nice and welcome each camper with open arms. Plenty of time left in the season to stay and enjoy!

If you are in the Cassville area for any length of time someone will inevitably mention Bates Corner on HIghway 76/86. In the 1940's and 50's, this was a local store and trading post. My grandmother would trade her eggs for flour and sugar and in turn make my mother and aunt dresses from the flour sacks.

Cassville schools resume August 13 and all of Wildcat country is ready for some football! I thoroughly enjoy the Friday night lights and the support of the Cassville community for our young athletes. If you have never experienced a Wildcat football game it would be worth your while to join our fantastic community in cheering for these hardworking students!

Cassville holds an annual music program called "The Show". It features live entertainment and music from local talents. Each year is different, exciting and fun. Past years have featured 50's and 60's music, television or movie themes and ABC's-one song starting with each letter of the alphabet. The audience sits in the new FEMA building either in the comfortable bleacher seats or in reserved tables located by the Cassville Football field. Reserved tables include drinks, snacks and a much closer view of the live entertainment. This years Show is October 23, 25 and 26.
