When we arrived at The Bake Shoppe a little after 2:00 p.m.the well-maintained and well-lit dining room and living room areas were empty. But this was not a bad sign. The Bake Shoppe is locally known for the best cinnamon rolls around. Not only are their buns and rolls delicious, but they offer quite a varying assortment of homemade warm-and-serve dishes ranging from classic bierocks to an enticing tater-tot casserole!

There is an espresso machine with a full coffee menu, and the staff was kind and shared upcoming events The Bake Shoppe would be hosting. Next time there is a need for a pan of cinnamon rolls, this is where I will be shopping!

We arrived at the Cimarron Trading Post around 1:00 p.m., and several patrons remained from the lunch rush. We enjoyed the laid-back, sports-bar, and grill ambiance with several seating options. The service was fast and pleasant, and the food was at the correct temperature and quite delicious. The price was in the low thirties + tip, which is decent for lunch at a bar and grill—discount for cash payments. I would recommend it.

We entered and were greeted when we were less than halfway up the ramp to the dining room/bar area. Angel, our outstanding server, told us to sit wherever we wanted and that she would be with us shortly. We received our iced teas . . . it was a working lunch, or we would have enjoyed some of their famously ice-cold cervezas. Angel took our order, and less than ten minutes passed before my beautiful bride's entrée arrived, and mine followed a minute later.

My double-bacon cheeseburger accompanied by beer-battered onion rings was quite the meal both in flavor and portion - and yes, the double patties were juicy and perfectly cooked! Michelle had a roast beef sandwich with beer-battered onion rings and was also quite pleased with the flavor and portion.

A pleasant surprise occurred when I learned the burger wasn't prepared on a typical restaurant flat-iron griddle but rather a pellet grill. A pellet grill helps retain the meat's juiciness and flavor. Sometimes a burger might appear pink or undercooked when cooked on a pellet grill, but in reality, it has reached the preferred temperature.

The bar appeared stocked with ample seating. I imagine they're available upon request and used during dinner hours until closing time. Just past the men's restroom was a dark room with pool tables and no activity - during our lunchtime visit.
