The Reading Kick-Off Party was held in the library parking lot on Tuesday, May 23 from 3:30 - 7:00 p.m. This was a city wide information event with representatives from Mulvane Rec Center, Mulvane Swimming Pool, Sedgwick County Zoo, Set-Free Dance Studio, Wyldewood Cellars, Great Plains Nature Center, a karate school and several others. They provided information on their summer events. Entertainment and food trucks were there as well as giveaways and drawings with lots of prizes. Many residents came to join the fun and receive information on a great community!

Come join us on May 13th for a Saturday evening at the Pix Community Center. The Wildcats will be hosting a variety show. Included in the performances will be Tornado Alley barbershop quartet and three original sketches by the Wildcats. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and tickets are available at the door. Snacks will be furnished and a cash bar is available. Come join in the fun for all and check out the newly remodeled Community Center.

The Mulvane Community Center has recently remodeled and has a new name; Pix Community Center. On Saturday, May 13th a fun evening of entertainment is scheduled for the Center. Come and join in the fun and see what improvements have been made to the Center.

Mulvane's new library is a fun place to visit. A couple of programs available are Coffee and Coloring which is held the first Tuesday of each month from 6:00-7:45 pm or DIY Mondays from 6:00-7:45 pm which is held the second and fourth Mondays of the month. Stop by and check all the programs for children to adults. While you are visiting Mulvane, have lunch or dinner in one of our fine restaurants.

Old Settlers Days just celebrated 143 years with a fun festival in Mulvane. The festival is held yearly on the third week in August. This year it was August 19 - August 21st. There were a lot of events going on during the festival including a road race, rodeo, carnival, auto and craft shows, parade, talent show, Little Miss Pioneer pageant, turtle races and much more. Many came out for good food, wonderful entertainment and lots of fun in Mulvane. This is always a great late summer activity to enjoy with family and friends.

The new library in Mulvane will be opening in May. Driveways and parking lots are being poured around the building. The library is conveniently located close to downtown and schools. Get a cup of coffee at the DK restaurant and enjoy Mulvane's new Library with the latest books.

Check out Mulvane Depot Museum in downtown Mulvane for local historical artifacts. A smaller quiet little town with that historic flare. While your are the don't miss out on the fine dinning.
