In the south part of Newton there is an area called Market Station, just off of S Kansas. You can find this beauty shop in Market Station and you access it from the S Dillon's parking lot. The owners are very friendly and welcoming. You can just walk in and request service or you can make an appointment. I think you will enjoy seeing this short video.

You are going to really enjoy seeing downtown come alive with the murals created by local artists. Stop by the Chamber office at 500 Main Place if you want to know where they are located. The exciting part is that we may only have two so far, but plans and designs are already completed for several more. They just need the funds and they will work on them this spring and summer. Come walk our downtown and enjoy!

Right on Main Street you can come and hang out at Norms Coffee Bar and have brunch items, baked items and an assortment of coffees as well as other drinks. They have quite a mission in our community which you can hear about in this video.

This new Pharmacy opened up in our community and you will be amazed as to all the services they provide as well as an extensive selection of gift items for everyone in your family. Come down to Harvey Drug's and see what all they have to offer.

Downtown Newton has a lot to offer both those who live here and who come and visit. It's a welcoming town and we want you to feel welcome. On Main Street downtown, you can find a variety of retail businesses including Mojo Clothing. The owner is very friendly and has a lot to offer women and teenagers as well. Come take a look.

Today we present Norm's Coffee Bar to you. You might think it is just another coffee shop, but boy are you in for a surprise! The owners are building community. They have created a safe haven for middle school kids to eat snacks, spend time with mentors, and hang out after school. You'll definitely want to check out Norm's!

Sakura Japanese Steak House and Sushi Bar is a gem in Newton. The sushi melts in your mouth and the hibachi grilled steak and chicken is delicious. The ambiance is second to none and the owners are super nice and accommodating. You can also order online to pick up or enjoy a quiet evening in the restaurant. You don't need to be a fan of seafood to eat here, they have something for everyone!

With a growing population, new city projects breaking ground, and all the goals of the last comprehensive plan accomplished, it was decided that now was the perfect time to create a new vision for the community's future, while hopefully renewing (pun intended) people's interest in being involved in the community. It is so nice to have a movie down the street from us in Newton. The Mitchell Chisholm Trail 8 movie theatre is always clean and the employees are awesome. There's no need to drive anywhere else to enjoy a nice movie; we have it in Newton!

Newton area residents are buzzing with excitement over the new YMCA building in South Newton. It is a state of the art health and fitness center with pools, gyms, coaches, and programs for all ages. Newton School District 373 does have an indoor pool, and this new facility with a regulation lap pool will greatly aid in making Newton an attractive place for water sports competition. The new YMCA is near Newton Medical Center, Walmart, as well as the Quail Creek, Stratford Place, and Stone Creek areas.

Dr. Paul Allen recently did cataract surgery on my left eye. He did my right eye several years ago and I asked him to make it close to 20/20 for distance, so if necessary, I could see well without my glasses. On my left eye, I asked him to make it so I could read without my glasses. This was very close to what it was naturally, so I had a few years to experience this and liked it. The surgery was painless and professional and I love the way I get along very well without glasses. I usually wear them, for totally corrected vision, but it is so nice to be able to see without them if necessary.

Carol Sauerwein has a beauty salon in Downtown Newton. The salon is always clean and bright and Carol is too! She has gone the extra mile to work me in when my schedule changes and is always friendly and always considerate. My wife, Janice, is convinced that she is best and most professional hair stylist in town I agree.

In recent years a large business district has sprung up around the Super Wal-mart store located in South Newton. Businesses include grocery stores, restaurants, banks, clothing stores, fitness clubs, and hardware. They serve the new subdivisions of Autumn Glen, Summer Crossing, Stratford Place, Spring Lake, and Sand Creek Station.

This non for profit community orchestra was founded in 1956 under the direction of Elvira Voth.
Today, the orchestra has around 75 musicians and they perform four concerts a year with emphasis on the classics.They also do a Pops Concert focusing on different themes as well as a summer music concert with works for strings, wind and piano. The Music Director/Conductor is Thomas W. Douglas.

Newton has a vibrant downtown business district. We have a theater, clothing store, banks, jewelry stores, restaurants, offices, train station for Amtrak, office supply, hardware, cleaners, doctors, antique shops, loft apartments, natural food stores, coffee shops, home decorating stores, attorney offices, county court house and real estate offices.

Newton hosts three festivals and/or parades during the year and has its own community symphony and its own art gallery. Newton Recreation Center provides community courts for basketball, volleyball and swimming. We have an extremely low crime rate and offer small town living attributes with only a short drive to Wichita for big town opportunities.
