Like all major metro areas, Kansas City has pockets that need a little extra TLC. We have neighbors who have been through unimaginable struggles, and those who have survived the kind of hardships of which nightmares are made. But even in our darkest moments we have the light of hope in our bustling city, because of our residents!

Residents like the 350 real estate professionals who partnered with Habitat for Humanity to volunteer their time and resources to "Rock the Block" and renovate one such area. It is amazing how far a little paint, some yard work, and some handmade benches and flower boxes can go to brighten a neighborhood and bring new life to the city. As the mayor said when he kicked off the event, that kind of spirit is contagious. Neighbor helping neighbor, pride of ownership, and even business "competitors" coming together to make a difference when it counts, are just some of the things that make the Kansas City metro area a wonderful place to live and work!

I just had the pleasure of touring this brand new place! Feels like a combination between a classy hotel and a small apartment complex. Friendly staff focused on giving their residents a positive experience every day! I would highly recommend stopping by for a tour if you or a family member has been considering assisted living in the near future!

  • On September 17th, 2016, after the Royals win the game against the Chicago White Sox became a special evening for our Royals, Ned Yost. This was his 1000th game win in his baseball career. He said he had two goals; one was to bring a world championship to a great city, and two was to win 1000 baseball games. He has accomplished both. Check out this special moment for Ned Yost in the video below. Go Royals!

  • I think we must have one of the most amazing baseball stadiums here in Kansas City. Kauffman Stadium or "The K" offers a plethora of food and drink options conveniently located throughout the stadium, and everything looks so clean and well organized. There are also some great little shops and kid’s activities behind the fountains. The K has many gorgeous water features as well. It gets my vote for a great outing with friends and family, and of course you'll get to see our boys in blue! Check out the video below for a sneak peek of Kauffman Stadium.

What a way to travel. You can shop River Market then head south on the streetcar to Crown Center for a Fritz's "Train Burger".

Loose Park, 75 acres located on Wornall Road, is not only one of the most popular and beautiful Kansas City parks, it is also very historical with many Civil War markers. The Battle of Westport, a famous Civil War battle, was located here. An estimated 29,000 soldiers were involved in this battle.

Back then, this land was owned by William Bent. Shortly after he passed away in 1871, a man named Scott Ward purchased this land. After the Kansas City Country Club was established, members signed a lease with Mr. Seth Ward to use part of this property for the golf course for $1.00 per year plus taxes. This portion of the property was used in this manner until 1927, after Ella Loose purchased the property from Seth Ward’s son Hugh. She wanted to acquire the park to honor her husband, Jacob, who had passed away in 1923. Ella gave the park to the city in 1927. Jacob Loose was the owner and founder of Loose-Wiles Biscuit Company.

Loose Park features a popular spot for family, prom, engagement, senior and wedding pictures. This area is the Rose Garden. Beginning in 1931, a woman named Laura Conyers Smith established what was known as The Rose Society where there were originally approximately 120 rose bushes. Today the garden is comprised of around 4,000 bushes, and over 165 varieties. The garden stretches over an 1 1/2 acres with restored beds according to original plans. The Rose Society has planted over 1,200 new plants in a $400,000 renovation.
