Cooper's Hawk has good food and a nice atmosphere. I like how the restaurant is designed. It has one of the best views of The Plaza. Be sure to order the Thai Chicken lettuce wraps. They are delicious!

The Classic Cup started in Westport many years ago as a coffee/dessert house and small retail store selling coffees, teas, coffee accessories shortbread cookies and more. It was like stepping into a coffee bistro in another country. They later expanded into a restaurant on The Plaza.

This is one of the best, long standing, restaurants The Country Club Plaza has to offer. Great atmosphere with indoor and outdoor seating. I like the Salmon Nicoise Salad and the Thai Chicken Pizza, which has been a menu selection for many years. Everything I have tasted over the 20 years I have been going there has been delicious! They also have a really good wine selection!

Hands down this is a Kansas City favorite! Winstead’s has been around since 1940 and you can still find several locations no matter where you are in the Kansas City metro area. The one I generally go to is just a block or so east of The Country Club Plaza. I suggest an ice cold vanilla malt, cheeseburger, fifty-fifty (fries and onion rings) and a root beer…yum! Not only do you get fresh, good food you get a fun atmosphere too.

I attended the University of Missouri - Kansas City for college and lived on the west side of the plaza while doing so. I have real insight into life on the Country Club Plaza in Kansas City. Many people talk about Plaza living, dining, shopping and entertainment and I lived it.

The Plaza is an overall pristine shopping, dining and entertainment experience that produces a massive amount of income for Kansas City giving this area the glory it deserves. If you have not had a chance to experience this first hand, I suggest you get on the ball and go have a night out on the Country Club Plaza!

A must see in Kansas City are the Plaza Lights. Join in a Kansas City tradition when the holiday lights are turned on Thursday, November 27, 2014 at 6:54 pm. This event is followed by fireworks and a post-ceremony concert. I have seen this ceremony since I was a child and it is just as exciting today as it was back then!

This past weekend was that time of year again for The Country Club Plaza's 83rd Annual Art Fair. The Art Fair is an annual welcoming into the fall season in Kansas City. The Art Fair is one of the most anticipated art events nationwide. This year the Art Fair featured 240 artists from across the USA. The three-dayday celebration not only featured art but many enjoyed all the Plaza has to offer such as many choices in dining, shopping and live music. Admission is free for this annual September event. Enjoy the link below to take a tour! The Fair is always a great way to embrace a local Kansas City tradition.

What started in 1925 in a single store has grown to 15 Blocks of Christmas Lights. The first lighting ceremony took place in 1930 and is something that old and young look forward to every year. If you have not been down to the Country Club Plaza to see the lights, you do not know what you are missing. Our out of town guest always enjoy a trip to see the lights.

The lights will be on until January 12th so load up your family and go enjoy the lights.

The Plaza Art Fair is one of my favorite KC events. There is a large assortment of activities for people of all ages. The art is amazing, there is live music and fabulous food from many of the Plaza restaurants. There is a Kids Zone for children. Parking can be a little tricky so get there early to find a spot.

One of my all time favorites areas in Kansas City is the Country Club Plaza. I grew up near the Plaza in grade school and I shopped there in my teens. Today I enjoy the many excellent choices of restaurants. I also attend Unity Temple on the Plaza. This isn't just a place to shop and eat though - there are many choices of homes surrounding The Plaza, from one bedroom condos to large stately homes. Kansas City is referred to as the "City of Fountains" and many of our most beautiful fountains are located at the Plaza.

One of my favorite Kansas City traditions is the Plaza lights. On Thanksgiving evening, every year for the last 83 years, all of the Plaza buildings (15 square blocks) are outlined with Christmas lights and lit up. It is a gorgeous sight to see! The lights stay on until about mid-January when the holiday season is over. The Plaza is filled with stores for everyone in the family so all are guaranteed a good time.

This is a great piece of Kansas City architecture and located on The Country Club Plaza.. It was built in 1972 and was named the Alameda Plaza. It later became the Ritz-Carlton. Then in year 2000 it was renamed again to The Fairmount. The building has 12 floors and has a very unique curve with a breathtaking waterfall at the center. If you are traveling to Kansas City or you need a quiet relaxing weekend you should definitely consider this wonderful place in our great city. There is plenty of shopping, restaurants and entertainment ideas right outside the door.

The Country Club District is a historic, upscale residential district that straddles the state line in Kansas City, Missouri and Johnson County, Kansas. The neighborhoods are home to approximately 60,000 people and were developed in stages between 1906 to 1950 by J.C. Nichols. The area includes such well-known Kansas City neighborhoods as Sunset Hill, Rockhill, and Brookside in Missouri. The Kansas side includes Mission Hills, Fairway, and the oldest parts of Prairie Village.

The Country Club District is the largest planned community built by a single developer in the United States. The beautiful, well-manicured Ward Parkway cuts through the district running south from the Country Club Plaza, the first suburban shopping center in the United States.
