I've lived in Lee's Summit for over a year now and downtown is an amazing little area. I proposed to my fiancee at the heart and fountain. I've lived north of the river my entire life, so moving south was always going to be tough. The city has a charming feel to it, especially in the winter with all of the Holiday lights. It offers everything you can imagine for any age group. From small coffee shops to corporate retail.

In the last few years, downtown Lee's Summit has grown at a rapid pace. Several new restaurants, bars, and boutique stores have risen up, making the downtown area a destination for all ages. The nightlife and shopping scene is booming, so homes around there have seen an increase in value as well. Many homes in the 1/2 mile radius of Main Street and Douglas intersection have sold in record time, for record highs. Many consumers love the idea of walking to the farmers market or walking to their favorite restaurant.

If you have thought about buying or selling in the area, it's a great time to do so. Houses are still affordable and sellers are able to get top dollar for a home that they have owned for years. The growing of restaurants, events, breweries, shopping isn't done either. As a part owner of a business in the area, and as a realtor, it's nice too have a unique perspective on this popular area.

Jazzy B's Diner, located at 1803 NE Colbern Road in Lee's Summit, brings delicious BBQ and other tasty items on the menu. This business first started with their food truck several years ago, then they opened their restaurant last year and they've been rolling non-stop. Some of their most popular menu items are the Brisket Tacos, Pulled Pork Sandwich and Drunken Shrimp Po' Boy sandwich. The Jazzy fries, seasoned with cinnamon, are a real delight, too!

Along with the great food, this family-friendly establishment has impressive jazz memorabilia throughout such as jazz albums, vinyl records, photographs, etc. They also have an upper-level area with a large flat screen TV so patrons can watch sporting events while dining with family and friends. Most importantly, the staff is very friendly and treats you as if you are a part of the family.

I wanted to share with you a great place in Lee's Summit to take your pet to get groomed and bathed. Groomingdales has been a part of Lee's Summit for over 10 years. The owner, Mary Happy is still personally involved in the care and grooming of all her clients pets. She has recently updated her location to have more space for the dogs and add more work stations for her professionals to groom. The lobby is a friendly relaxing environment and there is always someone ready to greet you at the desk. I usually am able to make an appointment within two to three days of when I call. They are very accommodating to my needs and they are able to get all three of my dogs in on the same day if I want to bring them all in. Also, they are just blocks away from the dog park in Lee's Summit, so I can sometimes take my dogs there for an extra treat after their grooming.
