Frankie Farelanes in Lee's Summit on 3rd Street is the best. Not your typical taco joint. Best wings I've ever had. And sliders to die for! A must try!

My youngest son has competitive soccer practice here at this gorgeous park. It has an awesome walking trail and an incredible butterfly gardens area. Donated in 1968 by the Lowenstein Brothers it now is equipped with basketball goals, open space area, and playground area. Right next to shopping at Summit Woods! Go check it out with the kiddos if you haven't been yet!

This speakeasy bar really holds up to it's reputation. To start, the “secrete” entrance immediately sets the mood, especially since it’s by reservation only. Once inside, the atmosphere is true to its style. With the dozens of custom cocktails on the menu, you’re sure to find something you like. I recommend the Smoked Vanilla Bourbon.

There is a structure that can be seen when traveling on 291Hwy South at around the Lakewood exit. The structure has writing on it that states "Yours Truly" on top and "Lees Summit" below it. I love this sign! They could have used "Sincerely", "Cordially", "Respectfully" or any other saying. Yet they chose "Yours Truly". I think that this is perfect! In my opinion, "Yours Truly" is much more personal and is something you would use in closing a letter to someone you cared about, like a loved one and/or family. That is what I believe the community of Lee's Summit feels like. I feel a lot of love in Lee's Summit. It feels like family. It feels like home!

Smoke Brewing Company is a relatively new restaurant and brewery located in the booming downtown Lee's Summit area. They offer a full menu of award winning BBQ and several unique appetizers to include the "Diet Special", which is, no joke, chicken fried bacon with a side of cream gravy. Great for bacon lovers! My current favorite meal item on the menu is their Brisket Sandwich.

Smoke Brewing also has a wide selection of their own beers. I go with the flight of five so I can sample different varieties. Be sure to check in on Yelp and receive 50% off a flight!

They are conveniently located at 209 SE Main St. in Lee's Summit. While you're in the area check out the other great restaurants, bars, and shops within a two block radius!

A little history about Arnold Hall includes it being listed on the National Register of Historic Places. A local Lee's Summit company, Sherwood Manufacturing, built it in 1946. The building was donated to the city in 1950 by Joseph Arnold as a Community Center. The building sits where the old Memorial building stood during President Harry S. Truman's historic declaration of candidacy for Eastern Judge of the Jackson County Court. Arnold Hall is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. It is highly recommended to visit Third Street Social when in Lee's Summit.

I've lived in Lee's Summit for over a year now and downtown is an amazing little area. I proposed to my fiancee at the heart and fountain. I've lived north of the river my entire life, so moving south was always going to be tough. The city has a charming feel to it, especially in the winter with all of the Holiday lights. It offers everything you can imagine for any age group. From small coffee shops to corporate retail.

In the last few years, downtown Lee's Summit has grown at a rapid pace. Several new restaurants, bars, and boutique stores have risen up, making the downtown area a destination for all ages. The nightlife and shopping scene is booming, so homes around there have seen an increase in value as well. Many homes in the 1/2 mile radius of Main Street and Douglas intersection have sold in record time, for record highs. Many consumers love the idea of walking to the farmers market or walking to their favorite restaurant.

If you have thought about buying or selling in the area, it's a great time to do so. Houses are still affordable and sellers are able to get top dollar for a home that they have owned for years. The growing of restaurants, events, breweries, shopping isn't done either. As a part owner of a business in the area, and as a realtor, it's nice too have a unique perspective on this popular area.
