Home, church, or event center maybe? So many possibilities here!! The original building, with its historical significance, has been preserved and improved. The original pews (a few remain) with walnut top rails and arm rests, bought from the Wichita Congregational Church for $90 and brought by team and wagon in 1900. The first major improvement was in 1928, when the building was raised and a basement was added. In 1955, the sanctuary was completely remodeled. On May 17, after the rededication service on January 8, 1956, the building was greatly damaged by fire. But plans were immediately made to restore it exactly as it had been before, and so it was. In 1980, a new kitchen and new restrooms were added. Property was purchased in 2019 and re-zoned for residential. As it sits, the property could be converted to a home or daycare or back into a church or possibly another use.
