  • Lexington has seen so much growth over the last few years! One of these recent additions is Ten Twelve Main, a brand new bar and grill located in the historic downtown district. This quaint spot is housed in one of Lexington's early banking buildings and guests can enjoy a drink inside the old bank vault! Lexington offers plenty of homes with large yards! This historical town is a center hub for Lafayette County. Driving down Main Street with all the beautiful Civil War homes is just breathtaking. Historical homes are everywhere here and Lexington is part of the Louis & Clark Trail. There is so much history and this area offers such a small town atmosphere. Very friendly people and so many activities going on all year around!
  • The popular historic Lafayette County Courthouse, located in Lexington, is a talking point among locals and visitors alike. Built in 1847, at a construction cost of just a little over $14,000, this majestic courthouse overlooks the Lexington Downtown area. This courthouse proudly displays her wounds received in 1861 during the Civil War, when a cannonball was lodged in one of the columns of the front of the Courthouse. This cannonball is still present in the structure of the Courthouse and can be seen still today.

With the recent and unfortunate closing of Wentworth Military Academy and College, which has been in existence since 1880, many people are re-visiting the city's rich historic legacy. This is vividly shown all over the city in its homes, buildings, and businesses and neighborhoods.
