The Beauty Nail Bar is something special! Not only can you go in to get your mani-pedi but they also have a full service bar. This is perfect for a day out with the girls or taking a minute to relax after a long day. They are quick, professional and they do a great job on your nails. Very pretty and modern when you walk in and very clean. The prices are pretty average to the other places you go as well!

If you have a kid that plays any kind of instrument then you have heard of Meyer Music. This is a family owned company that has been in business for 50 + years. They are such a big part of our community, they help with the in coming sixth graders to help pick an instrument that will fit them. They have people who teach lessons, and a repair shop in the store. They also give back to the schools in many ways that are greatly appreciated.

Lake Remembrance is a 54 acre lake on the east side of Blue Springs. It is a great place to do some kayaking, canoeing or fishing! You can find catfish, bass and red ear sunfish in this particular lake! Even more so, it has a large trail that wraps around the lake with great views and it even connects to the Blue Springs Dog Park so Fido can come too!

Johnny Tavern's is a great place to eat and hangout at for girls night, date night or just to watch the game. They offer a variety of sandwiches, salads, burgers or other entrees to choose from and the customer service is top notch. On warm summer nights you can chill outside under the party lights and make memories with friends and family.

Mid Continent Library has always been a staple in the Blue Springs Community. It has offered resources not only book related, but it can be your local printing station, host events for pre-schoolers and offer access to computers with the internet. In 2018, the newly remodeled building offers all that but to the max. Now there are private rooms for group studies and even individual cubes for those needing to catch up on some work. I haven't even gotten to the selection of books, the library now offers a system to really help you narrow down your book needs simply by walking up to one of many monitors and it walks you through everything.

Last week, I tried the Bean Counter Cafe at Colonial Gardens here in Blue Springs! All I can say is...whoa! If you have not been there, it's time to call up your bestie and go check out this coffee house! It is in the middle of Colonial Gardens, with large windows to see the beauty right outside. I went while it was snowing outside, so the shrubbery mixed with the snow made it the perfect winter wonderland to sip my latte and have a turkey melt with the most delicious mango salsa. I hear it's just as beautiful, if not more beautiful, in the summer with an array of color out the window with the beautiful flowers growing and the lush greenery that surrounds you. So get on the phone and schedule that lunch date! You won't regret it!

Among the many parks in Blue Springs, this is one of my favorites. Besides being large with plenty of open and treed areas, it features playground type equipment, doggie water fountain, and a walking trail around the park that follows around the lake. You can enter from the parking lot or lakeside. There is even a doggie lake for pups to swim in. My bully doesn't particularly like the lake, but he loves the interaction. There always seems to be plenty of other furry friends around to play with. If your pup gets a bit dirty, there is even a doggie shower at the main exit. It's nice to have a place like this that's local. Be sure to check it out, with your pup of course.

Downtown Blue Springs is on the rise with great local businesses like East Forty Brewing, Scout Coffee, The Hideout, Genevieve's Home & Handmade, Inklings Books & Coffee Shop, Brewer's Sports Bar & Grill, Pizza Shoppe, and Simply Frosted, just to name a few. If you haven't been downtown lately you need to get out there. It's family-friendly. Go shopping, have some dinner, or get a dessert. You can also enjoy craft beer and/or cocktails with friends.

Yesterday I decided to pay a visit to the Martini Shack on South 7 of Blue Springs and on Tuesday’s they have a 5$ martini special on specific drinks! The Cherry Cheesecake Martini was delightful. The decor in Martini Shack was very shabby chic and unique. What a great place to unwind for a drink or two with friends! Also, they offer limo rides home if you have one too many! So next time you’re looking for a hot new spot, check out the Martini Shack!

There are so many fun things to do at the Marina at Lake Jacomo! We rented a pontoon for a full day and had a blast with the kids fishing, swimming, and coving out. I didn't know you could rent a paddle boat, kayak, paddle boards, fishing boats, and canoes! You can also dock fish for a daily fee for only $4 for adults and $2 for kids 12 and under. Very reasonably priced and so close to home, it makes the perfect family outing in the summer or fall.
