Students throughout Grain Valley Schools will observe Veterans Day, honoring those who have served in the U.S. Military. Each school has made plans to commemorate Veterans Day in its own way.

Matthews Elementary Peer models will be leading an assembly "noticing" our Veterans on Friday, November 10th, from 1:30 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. Boy Scouts from Matthews will lead the pledge, the honor choir will sing a song, and there will be a slideshow of Veterans submitted by families and community members. This event is open to the public.

Prairie Branch Elementary 3rd-grade students and members of the 4th and 5th grade Mustang Choir will be presenting a program titled "We Honor You" to thank all of our brave soldiers from the present and past for their service. This program will be held on Wednesday, November 8th, at 3:00 p.m. and Thursday, November 9th at 6:30 p.m. This program will include many patriotic songs. The public is invited and welcome to celebrate.

It's great to hear that Grain Valley High School students have been actively participating in the Pickleball Club led by Mrs. Michael and Mrs. Peterson. Sports clubs like this offer a fantastic opportunity for students to have fun, stay active, and enjoy some healthy competition.

Ms. Deanna Snedeger has been appointed as the assistant principal at Sni-A-Bar Elementary School for the upcoming 2023-2024 school year. Previously, she served as a third-grade teacher at Sni-A-Bar, accumulating a total of 10 years of teaching experience. Additionally, she has three summers of experience as a summer school administrator.

Ms. Snedeger's educational background includes a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Northwest Missouri State University. She furthered her education by earning a master's degree in administration from the University of Central Missouri.

This announcement comes after the recent news of Mr. Casey DeLoach, the current assistant principal, being promoted to the position of principal at Sni-A-Bar Elementary. The current principal, Dr. Carrie Reich, will transition to the role of Director of Student Services.

Mr. Casey DeLoach, the incoming principal, expressed his excitement about Ms. Snedeger joining the administrative team at Sni-A-Bar Elementary. He praised her as a valuable asset to the school, highlighting her embodiment of leadership qualities and a student-centered approach. Mr. DeLoach and the rest of the school community are eagerly looking forward to seeing Ms. Snedeger's continued success in her new role as assistant principal.

Grain Valley boys golf team performed well in the Class 4 Missouri State High School Boys Golf Championships! Being in contention for their first-team state trophy is a significant achievement.
After the first round at the Sedalia Country Club, the Eagles were in fourth place with a team total of 312. Congratulations to the Grain Valley Boys!

Grain Valley is at it again, These amazing women took first place in Speech and Debate at State. This is a first for Grain Valley. However, we do have some of the best teachers and mentors. These ladies stand out in everything they do. Carmen Myers (12) and Gabrielle Holman (12) are your state champions in policy debate. Senior Carmen Myers also placed second in international extemp. Congratulate these two, they are our first speech and debate state champions from Grain Valley! They have one last regular tournament before nationals in Phoenix in June.

This is one of my favorite things to do at school!! Our six-story iconic RE/MAX Balloon was brought to the Grain Valley South Middle School for the 7th graders this year to check out and the teachers got to go for a tethered ride. We have so much fun and the kids love it! I enjoy going above and beyond for the teachers to help the kids stay involved and interested!

Congrats to Jamie Black. She was named the Assistant Principal at Stony Point Elementary for the 2023/2024 school year. Grain Valley will be blessed with an amazing, loving teacher who truly cares about the students and staff! Go Tigers!

Grain Valley Schools are above and beyond. The students are set up for life regarding their academics, athletics, and most of all the school's dedication to the students. I have seen kids who need special needs to academic scholars and they are all set up with the best teachers for that individual. Grain Valley specializes in leaving no kid left behind. That does not mean that all kids are put into one classroom and they hope they learn. That means if the kid needs some extra help, we have teachers who specialize in that, if the student is gifted, they have honor teachers ready for the students. It takes a village and that is just what the Grain Valley School District does. They bring their village together to give the students the best for that student!

The Grain Valley Eagles football team has been on fire!!! Coach David Allie is far above most coaches! He has been with our team and is devoted to our youth program from the GVSL second grade up! This is paying off!! Our Eagles are on a roll and I'm looking forward to seeing them head-on today! These kids work day in and day out making habits that will take them throughout their life! Our Grain Valley Eagles have some of the best coaching staff all around and every day they make their impression on these young athletes!

I can't say enough about how awesome our local marching band is! The Grain Valley Marching Eagles have long had a reputation for hard work and earned success. Recently, the group was named Class AA Champions at the Bands of America Regional Competition! These kids work tirelessly to put on amazing shows and practice year-round. The Grain Valley School District continues to help students realize their natural talents! Congratulations, Marching Eagles!

Wow! The kids and I enjoyed this so much. Did your school have cool stuff like this? Mine sure didn't. I asked the school if I could come out and of course the Stony Point Elementary had a blast! Next time I will have a video choreographer, I had no idea this was so cool!

What a fun today! I had the RE/MAX Balloon out for the Stony Point Elementary in Grain Valley. The entire school got to come out and watch how this seven story balloon was inflated. This definitely had the "wow" factor. The wind picked up just a little and we weren't able to have lift off but I'm positive the kids enjoyed it just as much.Giving back is so much fun!
