I did not know this was in this community until I googled the nearest tea rooms. This is located in the Greenwood Antique District, and the restaurant is inside the Greenwood Antique Mall towards the back. The food is so good! I love the different teas and adore the buttery squash soup and quiche. This is a sweet palace just to go and clear your mind, or even have a girls' afternoon wearing pretty hats for an event.

Around 150 Highway and 5th Ave, Greenwood has the best decor boutique, tearoom, and antique shops! I have been twice in the past couple of weeks and it amazed me both times. The shops are amazing, the food is delicious, and the people are so kind. My favorite by far is The Porch Swing Boutique. They have tons of custom-made home-decor items, decor arrangements, and boutique-style clothes. I cannot recommend this place enough!!

The growing area of Greenwood has a lot to offer with wonderful schools, a relaxed feel, and access to the amenities of the Kansas City metro area. If you haven't been to a movie in a bit because of all the closings with COVID, now's your chance! The City of Greenwood is starting its annual Movies in the Park at Hitt Park (field 2) starting this Saturday, June 6. Bring your chairs and blankets to sit on the lawn. Concessions stand are providing popcorn, hot dogs, and other refreshment needs will be available. The movie begins at dark; sometime after 8:00 p.m. typically. Free for all!

Looking to fill up your holiday calendar? Check out Greenwood's own Christmas tree lighting ceremony. On December 14, at Fellowship Church in Greenwood, children can take a picture with Santa, the local elementary choir sings Christmas carols, and the mayor lights the tree. Cookies, coffee, and hot chocolate are available and children who visit Santa will receive a candy cane! This event runs from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on December 14.

Rehope Market and Cafe directly supports Restoration House of Kansas City helping those survivors of human trafficking!! Give some hope, and sip some coffee! I can't even hardly wait to tell you all about this place!! Let me start by saying, I felt welcomed when I walked through the door, greeted with a smile!! This is usually key to me of ever returning based on how I felt when I first walked through the door means a ton to me. I then ordered my London Fog, and all I can say is yum. I loved the atmosphere and it is set up super cute and functional for many purposes. It is split into different rooms with different styles of seating, for eating, studying, playing games, enjoying the sunshine and passing cars. I will certainly return, I may even start working from there a few days here and there!

ReHope Market and Café is a local café and coffee shop opening soon in Greenwood, Missouri, that directly supports the mission and cause of Restoration House of Greater Kansas City. Officially started in 2014, Restoration House is a long term residential home for survivors of human trafficking that exists to provide for the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of women and children who have been victimized by sex trafficking. Guests of the café can know that 100% of the profits are going to assist these women and children.

In addition to a full range of coffee and tea products provided by the Roasterie of Kansas City, the cafe will serve a variety of breakfast, lunch and dinner items as well as assorted baked goods. For the more health-conscious guest, Greenwood's own Zen Donkey Farms' cold-pressed, organic juices are also available. The market will offer a number of products from local vendors as well as ReHope merchandise and whole bean Roasterie coffee. Wi-fi will be free of charge to our guests. Private rooms are also available for small group meetings or co-working space. Renovations are nearing completion and ReHope Market and Café plans to be open in late October or early November of 2019 at 808 W. Main Street, Greenwood, Missouri. Did you know that the elementary school in Greenwood is actually a part of of the Lee's Summit R-7 School District? This is the oldest operating school in the many Lee's Summit elementary schools. Greenwood Elementary was constructed in 1910 and named Whiffing Hall and served students that attended in grades 1st-12th. Just some great information I thought you may find interesting about this historic building that celebrated 100 years in 2010.

Joel Dean Hitt Park is right in the center of this small town. Hosting events like the 4th of July celebration with skydivers, vendors, bounce house mania, and of course as the sun sets and the skies darken an amazing firework display. The entire community comes out to enjoy the festivities the city puts on!

An amazing playground with slides, swings, and a merry go round for the older aged kids. As well, there is a second playground area accommodating the younger smaller children at the back of the park.

Sand volleyball courts, soccer fields, and baseball fields. There is also one covered picnic area to enjoy with a small or large group!

Freedom Park is another great community area located on the north side of town on Gambrell St. The park offers parking, play area for children, basketball court, shelter house and plenty of shade trees to enjoy the outdoors in Greenwood.

My favorite Greenwood event of the year is the Freedom Fest at Hitt Park. The event is usually held the Saturday before the 4th of July and begins at 4:00 p.m. There are rides and games for kids of all ages, local vendors, car show, live music, food, sky divers and many other family fun activities. To cap the evening off there is a huge fireworks display that starts at 9:30 p.m. Most Greenwood residents can enjoy the fireworks from their driveways.

Greenwood is a quaint yet growing community with a population around 5200, and was voted safest city in Missouri in 2017. Greenwood is located in Southeast Jackson County and approximately 20 miles from Kansas City. Greenwood is part of the top rated Lee's Summit School District and also has its own elementary school in town. Greenwood has that small town feel however still close to merchants and restaurants nearby. Greenwood is a great family town and its where I call home.
