Kansas City, Kansas, also known locally as KCK, is a city that is rich in history and has a very diverse population. KCK is the third-largest city in the state of Kansas and the county seat of Wyandotte County. It is part of a consolidated city-county government known as the "Unified Government". Kansas City, KS has a vast array of activities for the entire family including festivals, museums, historic sites, NASCAR, professional soccer’s Sporting Kansas City, minor league baseball’s T-Bone’s, and major shopping districts, including the Legends and Village West. Kansas City is an extremely convenient, travel-friendly, city due to its close proximity to the Kansas City International Airport and Downtown, as well as being close to several major highways including I-35, I-70, I-435, I-635, and I-670. Kansas City was formed in 1868, having developed into a vital town due to its location at Kaw Point, the confluence of the Missouri and Kansas rivers. KCK was a vital town that connected westbound travelers to the Sante Fe, Oregon, and California trails, including Lewis and Clark during their historic westward journey. KCK was incorporated in October 1872.
Strawberry Hill is a historic area just across the state line into Kansas. This area is full of culture and is currently undergoing revitalization.
