Located just a few miles south of Louisburg, Middle Creek State Fishing Lake is a 200-acre lake that offers opportunities for boating, fishing, and hiking. The lake is stocked with a variety of fish, including largemouth bass, crappie, and catfish, and there are several boat ramps and fishing piers for anglers to use. The park also has several hiking trails that wind through the surrounding woods and offer views of the lake.

Located in the heart of downtown Louisburg, City Park is a popular destination for families and individuals looking to spend time outdoors. The park features a playground, picnic shelters, and a fishing pond stocked with catfish, bass, and sunfish. There are also several walking trails that wind through the park and offer scenic views of the surrounding area.

Louisburg is home to Powell Observatory, which is operated by the Astronomical Society of Kansas City. The observatory has a variety of telescopes and offers public viewing nights throughout the year, allowing visitors to get an up-close look at the night sky.

Ciderfest is a free event that happens the last weekend of September and the first weekend of October. This year's dates are September 24th and 25th as well as October 1st and 2nd. There will be pony rides, cider and donut making, craft booths, and a bunch of other fall festivities.

Louisburg Cider Mill is a fall favorite for everyone! They are open for tons of fun every year from September 17- October 31, and offer many family activities. My favorite was always the corn maze and country store but if those aren't for you, this place offers so many other things to do! They have a fun country store that is open Monday-Sunday (time varies), where they sell their famous apple cider donuts, and Lost Trail root beer! During the weekends of September 25 and October 2, they have a Cider Fest, which is a fun event they have to really kick off their season! Live entertainment, vendors, and food are usually present at these events and make for a fun fall day. In addition to the country, they also have a family farm, which features live animals, pumpkin patches, a corn maze, hayrides, a big jump pillow, and a snack shack! Louisburg Cider Mill is a yearly tradition for my family.

It may be winter, but there are still warm days throughout the week. Looking for somewhere to take the kids to get outside and get some fresh air? How about some delicious donuts, or good 'ole fashioned country store for some shopping? Check out Louisburg Cider Mill at 14730 K68 Highway, Louisburg, Kansas. Construction is now underway for the Louisburg City Hall to move out of the old high school and into a vacant building across from the Bungalow Boutique (3rd & Broadway). This location will be much more convenient for residents needing to access city offices. Move to be completed by Fall of 2015.

Louisburg Nursery & Greenhouse is now open! This locally owned nursery offers an awesome selection of perennials, annuals, shrubs and trees, to both retail as well as wholesale customers. Located just north of the heart of Louisburg, the nursery has 50,000 square feet of greenhouses where everything is grown to perfection! This is one of my annual favorites where I love to get all my deck plants.

Said to be KC's most traditional pumpkin patch, this is an annual tradition for my family. The kids have a blast in their huge corn maze and love to see who can find the biggest, most perfect pumpkin. Opening day is the last Saturday in September which gives you plenty of time to get your pumpkins in time for Halloween!

Come see the inaugural Louisburg Outdoor Flea Market! It will start on Saturday, June 13th in the West Gym Parking Lot on 2nd and Peoria. The flea market will be open 7:00 am - 4:00 pm, rain or shine.

Located in Louisburg, Powell Observatory is an astronomical observatory that first opened in 1984. Powell Observatory is home to the Ruisinger telescope, one of the largest telescopes available for public viewing in a five state area. The observatory is open year-round.

Just a short 20 minute drive south of I-435 and 69 HWY, Louisburg is a wonderful place to live, play, work or all of the above! From the award winning schools full of kindhearted teachers to the caring churches and civic organizations, you're sure to feel at home in no time.

The Louisburg community offers recreational sports including soccer, basketball, softball, baseball and volleyball. Many other activities are available including local 4-H clubs, boy scouts, girl scouts, church youth groups, and horseback riding lessons. So much fun and things to do in the country or just enjoy the beautiful Kansas sunsets!

If you pay a visit to Louisburg there are some nice houses to see and you may decide to make one of them yours. Spend an afternoon and enjoy, tennis, basketball, the slides, swings, jungle gyms, our great gazebo and more. The business district is close enough to walk to or you can ride your bike. We have great shopping, boutiques, antique stores, major chains and many other businesses to shop and work at. If you could use an outdoor outing, please enjoy a day at Louisburg Lake or Cedar Cove, where there is plenty of fishing and outdoor sports close at hand. The Aquatic Center is also a great place to cool off with a swim.

We are also quite proud of the Powell Observatory in Lewis and Young Park. This is one of very few telescopes of this size that offer access to the general public. The city park in Louisburg, located at 4th and Vine is a great place to meet, unwind and have fun. There is something here for everbody. Need a place to enjoy your lunch, meet with friends or just enjoy the shade? The covered shelter has picnic tables and offers a great view. If you could use a bit of exercise, try the tennis and basketball courts. The kids can burn off some energy and have at the slide, swings, jungle gyms and more.

The park is just a few miles east of the intersection of highways 68 & I-69, just south of Highway 2. Need a snack or something to drink? The Louisburg Cider Mill is due west! Louisburg has a solid business district and fine homes in which to live that meet any budget. There is plenty to do in Louisburg. The Middle Creek State Fishing Lake is nearby as well as Lake Miola and Hillsdale Lake State Parks to the west. Louisburg now features the Louisburg Aquatic Center for swimming plus a great 9-hole public golf course for you to enjoy a challenging round of golf.

I know it's 102 degrees outside today, BUT, it won't be long and fall will be here. The Louisburg Cider Mill is a short drive south on 69 highway. Each fall the Louisburg Cider Mill hosts Ciderfest. The dates for the 2013 festivities will be September 28-29 and October 5-6 from 8AM - 6PM. WOW, where to begin: 10 acre corn maze, pumpkin patch, live bluegrass music, arts and crafts booths, cider doughnuts, fresh caramel apples, wagon rides, fried pickles, homemade kettle corn, and last but certainly not least, Lionsclub pancakes every morning at 8AM. If you're looking for a fun fall day trip, the Louisburg Cider Mill is just the place.
