The newest subdivision that is on the east side of Interstate 29 in Platte City is Windmill Creek. This subdivision has the infrastructure that is associated with the City of Platte City. The development of the sewer, gas and electricity and other parts of the infrastructure was a significant part of the time involved in the planning, implementation and development of this subdivision. Several lots in the first phase have been reserved and are ready for homes to be built. The second phase is being engineered. This Tract of land is 75 acres and another 80 acres, (still in cornfields, next to Bethel Road) has been reserved for the expansion of the subdivision. Presently there are three phases. There are approximately 179 homes planned for the Windmill Creek Subdivision. Commercial buildings will be also be available from route 92 with access to the subdivision behind this shopping area. The Platte County EDC was proud to support this development and that it will be available for new homes as Platte County continues to grow. Platte City is the county seat for Platte County and provides many benefits to the community.
