    If you enjoy fishing, boating or camping visit beautiful Marion County Lake, just two miles east and two miles south of Marion, KS. The lake was built in the 1930's as part of the Civilian Conservation Corp and all of the stone structures were built using local limestone. It has two boat loading ramps, camping areas with electricity and water and plenty of space for dry camping and it has a great disc golf course. The swimming area is located near the lake office and the Lake Hall is available to rent for community and family functions. You can buy snacks, bait and essentials at the lake office. Lakeshore Drive goes around the entire lake and it is approximately a 2.5 mile walk. You will love the beautiful views of the lake as well as bird watching. There are a number of bald eagle couples that call this lake home. There are homes and cabins around the lake and the prices range from 50,000 - 440,000. Marion is about an hour drive to Wichita and Salina or 30 minutes to McPherson, Emporia or Newton.
