Prime Social is the coolest new place in Kansas City Metro (in my humble opinion). We went there last night to celebrate a friend's birthday and had a wonderful time. The staff and ambiance were perfect for a night out. The views from the huge windows are so pretty around sunset. I highly recommend it for a special night out. Try the prime sliders, porcini pizza, the wine country board, and the dirty martini. Make reservations, and go try it for yourself. Enjoy - it's so much fun!!!

I consider myself to be from the Kansas City area: born in Topeka and have lived here for the past 20 years. The first thing that comes to mind when I hear Country Club Plaza is the place to shop, eat, and be merry! So when the opportunity came about for me to work on the Plaza, it felt a bit strange. Not for the obvious reasons you are thinking or at least the ones I think you are thinking. But because I come here for peace of mind and to spend half my check! Never in my wildest thoughts did I imagine that I would be working in the Golden Shopping Place of Magic because that is not what my mind figured the space to be used for!

Much to my shock, the amount of work that I can get done in this beautiful part of the city has been a savior to my business. I do not know if it is due to the hustle and bustle of the area or if it is my innate womanliness settling in its natural habitat! Nonetheless, working on the Plaza has been just great. I feel inspired to be around other professional minds from different industries, and the surroundings are not half bad, and the food baby, the food!

Minsky's...if you are not familiar with this wonderful pizza joint that's around KC, you need to try it. You will love their cheesy breadsticks, all sorts of pizza from Prime Cut (my favorite) to Cheeseburger. There are locations all over the city from Liberty to South Plaza. Don't hesitate to try it if you haven't and if you have, go treat yourself! Enjoy!

If you haven't tried The Monarch, on the Country Club Plaza, you are missing out and need to make plans with your friends to meet for happy hour. The atmosphere is second to none with a full bar in the middle of the space and plush lounge chairs surrounding it. The ambiance is a must while you enjoy craft cocktails that are so tasty you cannot have just one! Enjoy and support our Plaza!

Restore Emporium on The Country Club Plaza may very well be my new favorite store in Kansas City! It is a unique family owned business that allows different vendors to come in and sell their products. Each vendor appears to be assigned designated areas in the store to sell their merchandise. What I love about this store is that most of the items are either vintage or vintage inspired, antique, farmhouse (think HGTV Magnolia), or trendy urban decor that are displayed by visiting lots of individual vendors all in one location. There is a little of everything for decorating your home with today's sought after trends including hand crafted and repurposed items. Think farmhouse, rustic, industrial, modern urban, and antiques all combined in one location to go together beautifully. Lots of cool stuff that is one of a kind!
  • The National Museum of Toys and Miniatures, which was previously known as the Toy and Miniature Museum of Kansas City, is located at 52nd and Oak just outside The Country Club Plaza. The museum recently went through an extensive eight million dollar renovation and is known for having one of the largest collections of antique toys in the nation. The Toys and Miniature Museum also contains one of the biggest collections of fine-scale contemporary miniatures in the world. Visiting this museum will bring back childhood memories (if you're as old as me) of some of your favorite toys. It is called a miniature museum for a reason. Some of the toys are so small that they can be hard to see. You are sure to enjoy the miniature doll houses and be amazed with all the detail and workmanship that was put into creating these beautiful masterpieces.

It's probably no surprise to Kansas City locals that the JC Nichols Memorial Fountain is the most photographed fountain in all of Kansas City. The fountain consist of four horsemen. Each one of the horsemen is said to represent one of the great mighty four rivers of the world consisting of the Mississippi River, Volga River, Rhine River, and Seine River. The fountain was originally sculptured in New York in 1910. However, it was unfortunately vandalized on numerous occasions and was missing almost a dozen parts. The Nichols family purchased the fountain in 1951 and had it refurbished. The fountain was installed at its current location on The Country Club Plaza in 1960. On any given day you can see tourists, prom groups, wedding parties, and more get their pictures taken in front of this beautiful monument.
