It's probably no surprise to Kansas City locals that the JC Nichols Memorial Fountain is the most photographed fountain in all of Kansas City. The fountain consist of four horsemen. Each one of the horsemen is said to represent one of the great mighty four rivers of the world consisting of the Mississippi River, Volga River, Rhine River, and Seine River. The fountain was originally sculptured in New York in 1910. However, it was unfortunately vandalized on numerous occasions and was missing almost a dozen parts. The Nichols family purchased the fountain in 1951 and had it refurbished. The fountain was installed at its current location on The Country Club Plaza in 1960. On any given day you can see tourists, prom groups, wedding parties, and more get their pictures taken in front of this beautiful monument.
