Looking to let your kid play their day away while you get some work done? That's what Rough and Bumble is all about. Here, you can have your kid snack and play during open play all day for $14. Rough and Bumble is open Monday-Friday from 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. and Saturdays from
9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Memberships are available as well. If your kid needs a playground and you need to work, try out Rough and Bumble.

Come out to Rough and Bumble Play Cafe for a morning of all things The Grinch. The Grinch will be here to tell his story as well as to take photos. The event is on December 10th and the 17th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Kids tickets are $35 with adults and babies eight months and younger being free. There will be a hot cocoa bar, crafts, and pizza, as well as open play, and don't forget to show up in your pajamas.

The annual Renaissance Festival is back again this year. Come out any weekend starting September 3rd and ending October 16th from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Here, you will get to experience life during the Renaissance period. The annual Barnyard Babies Festival returns to Ag. Hall of Fame in Bonner Springs on
Saturday, April 23rd, 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. The admission is $5. Piglets, chicks, baby ducks, cows, sheep, goats, and more will be showcased in the 4-H Zone. Other kid's activities include pony rides, games, tractor rides, train rides, chain saw carving, and more. This will be fun for the entire family. KC Zip is an outdoor zip line course made up of nine lines stretching over 5800 square feet! That's a lot of air time! Riders can reach speeds up to 50 miles an hour while soaring across the trees. KC Zip offers other activities like obstacle courses, the timber challenge, and exiled trail of terrors for those thrill-seekers at Halloween time! Overall this is a great place for people of all ages to get out and explore the outdoors in a very convenient location.

Bonner Springs has a surprisingly robust calendar of events. Some of them are annual, like Tiblow Days in August, the Renaissance Festival that lasts several weeks each fall, and the Christmas Parade at year's end.

And then there are the park events. You'll find the city band playing free concerts on warm summer eves. Look for the signs advertising performances at Murphy Park.

Kobi's Bar hosts bike night on Wednesdays for motorcycle enthusiasts. The restaurant/bar has music concerts featuring local and regional bands from time to time. The Azure Amphitheater serves up concerts from musicians you know and love. Willie Nelson, Korn, ZZ Top, and Clint Black are on the schedule in 2021.

Lions Park staff host batting practice sessions and other events designed to improve skills, as well as fun ones like their "silent disco," where area residents meet, greet, and have fun together.

I could probably add dozens of other events that are held in Bonner Springs, but I imagine by now you get the idea - you don't have to go far to have fun if you live here!

Kansas City Renaissance Festival kicks off Labor Day weekend in Bonner Springs, KS.

Enjoy Zip KC in Bonner Springs. Grab friends and experience their nine zip lines and over a mile of racing up to 50 miles an hour. Located at 12829 Loring Rd, Bonner Springs, the staff is very helpful and thorough with safety and explaining what to expect. Open year around, enjoy zip lining in all the elements in Kansas. The experience is exhilarating! It's defiantly worth a second visit.

If you love new adventures the KC Timber Challenge events are for you. The courses is over 130 acres of landscape incorporating an obstacle course of zip lines, seven story tower climb, hay bails, mud pits, and special surprises. The course officials will remind you it's not a race. The courses are developed to promote team building and personal growth. Wild costumes are encouraged. KC Timber provides multiple events with different themes throughout the year.

Now through April 9th, AARP will provide tax preparation services on Tuesdays from 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at the Bonner Springs Library.

The National Farmers Memorial located near the Agriculture Hall of Fame was designed as a tribute to American farmers of past generations, present, and future. The exhibit is a nice gesture of gratitude for the value of farmers to the livelihood of all Americans. The hard work, peaks and valleys that come with farming are many times overlooked. If traveling to the Agriculture Hall of Fame make sure you stop by the National Farmers Memorial exhibit.

The Kerry Roberts Park is one of the local favorites in Bonner Springs. The nine acre park is in memory of young Kerry Roberts who was fatally injured in a basketball game. Her family donated the land to Bonner Springs. Some of the park's features include a walking trail, playground, a shelter, picnic tables and grill areas. Get in touch with nature and admire the beautiful birds and wildlife that are native to this beautiful green space.

Even dogs need their own space. In Bonner Springs the four legged friends have their own off- leash playground. The fenced in dog park is located at 221 Pratt Ave. Meet friends and let your animals be free.

The Bonner Springs YMCA in partnership with the Bonner Springs community aims to provide healthy living choices and youth development. The YMCA which is sandwiched between the Bonner Springs Middle School and high school utilizes it's resources to offer a wide range of programs and after school activities.

There is always fun in the sun at Bonner Springs Aquatic Park. The aquatic pool and playground is a great place to stay cool in the summer. Some of the parks features include two diving boards, zero depth entry pool, a spray area, and rock climb with drop slide. The facility is also equipped with lockers and a great concession stand. Nettleton, the facility's focus is to provide the community enrichment through resources, new technology, and a variety of programs.
