Canterbury Trails is a very peaceful and secluded neighborhood located along Strode Road in Blue Springs. It's a wooded area along the border of Independence and Blue Springs, within a stone toss of the Burr Oak Nature Park and Conservation Center, so trees are everywhere and wildlife is abundant. There are several ponds both in the subdivision and nearby, plus a nice stream located in the woods to the east. Additionally, street lights are non-existent, so you'll commonly see deer, fox, blue herons, geese, snakes, owls, bats—even huge snapping turtles blocking the road on occasion and loads of other critters roaming about, but don't let that scare you! The neighborhood is divided in two sections, divided by a hill covered in mature trees. It has Independence utilities, but Blue Springs address and schools. Streets are privately owned and maintained by the HOA.
