Grain Valley, Missouri is located in Jackson County and has a population of just under 13,000 people. A 2005 study ranked Grain Valley number 2 of all Kansas City Suburbs based on housing choice, and number of homes priced between $50,000 and $350,000. The Grain Valley School District is locally and regionally recognized for the many opportunities and programs it provides to its students.
My wife and I have friends that have lived in the Grain Valley community for 25 years. They have two girls that attended the schools and were very pleased with the school district. The schools offer a wide variety of classes, activities, and sports. On a Friday night in the fall, everyone is at the GV football game enjoying the game and the band. It was a smaller town when they first moved to Grain Valley, but feel it still has a smaller town feel. Now with the addition of Price Chopper, B & B Theatre, and a few restaurants, it has really added some conveniences. There is an active community center which has activities for all ages, and the City of Grain Valley sponsors a luncheon each month for seniors. The community center also offers a swimming pool as well as a splash area for small children. I highly recommend living in the Grain Valley community.
