This is a fun little place to stop in for a drink or bring a few friends and have a wine sampling. This is a friendly family that works and runs the place. The wines were good and quite tasty. If you get hungry, they offer some home-style BBQ and cheeses to go with the wine. Nice little place!

If you want the best donuts of your life, go visit Jack's Donuts. It's a small shop and they tend to sell quickly, so try to get there early. They are open from 7:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. seven days a week. I took a bunch to my work and I was told by almost everyone that those were the best donuts they've ever had. Help out a local shop and stop in. You will thank me.

Dimond Bowl is a nice little hole in the wall bowling alley that also has pool tables, a few arcades, and darts. It has six lanes so it feels kind of private. The food is pretty good as I've had the burgers and nachos. If you are looking for good cheap tacos, Taco Tuesday is a good time. There is a bar to get some drinks at and some tables. It is very nice looking inside. I've been there over 10 times, sometimes for drinks, and sometimes for games. It's a nice experience all around.

We must say that this overnight stay at the Silver Heart Inn was amazing and extremely relaxing. My wife and I had an opportunity to attend a Murder Mystery night with dinner. At first, we were unsure how it would turn out and felt a bit nervous. When we were finished eating dinner and solved the Murder Mystery, we could not stop talking about it! The staff was so polite and professional.
The food, oh my goodness it was delicious. Stacey and I both said it was among the best breakfast we had ever had and dessert was unheard of. We had a very peaceful night in the main home and loved every bit of the adventure. If you are just visiting Kansas City or live here, this will be a romantic and enjoyable place to visit. The outside garden was so relaxing and beautiful. Silver Heart Inn, our experience was five stars and top-notch. Thanks so much for a fun night.

If you want to visit one of the oldest restaurants in Independence, go stop by Mugs Up. The menu has barely changed in all the years it's been open and they are one of the only places I've found that serves loose meat hamburgers. There is not another place like it. The staff is friendly as it's a true drive-in restaurant. They make their own root beer also, so make sure to try it or even get it as a rootbeer float. Very reasonably priced food. I highly recommend the chili burger.

Independence Animal Hospital is located at 300 S Noland Rd in Independence. This is the veterinarian that I have taken many pets to. I have used a ton of vets in my life but this one is the fastest, cheapest, and the best one I have ever gone to. As long as I live around the area, I will never go to a different one. The staff is super nice and they all make you feel like they really care about your pet. Right now they have curbside appointments that make it really easy to get in and out of there as they come out to your car to get your animal. In my mind, it's a lot less stress on your pet. Besides the great staff and caring people, they have very reasonable rates. In fact, the cheapest I've ever found.

This homestyle diner was awarded best cinnamon rolls in Kansas City for 2020. With locations now in both Independence and Liberty, this café has served in the Missouri community since 1983. This café isn't just a place for breakfast lovers, they also serve dinner foods such as chicken, fish, and steak. Although, of course, they serve delicious breakfast items as well. Items such as biscuits and gravy, pancakes, and a plethora of egg platters, are just a sample of the breakfast goodness at Corner Café. Don't feel like sitting down? That's okay because they offer online and delivery services as well. I highly recommend trying this place out.

If you are looking for a nice slice of pie, some cupcakes, or a giant piece of cake, this is the place to go. The employees are very nice and the prices are great. It is all made fresh that day. I have been in and tried three different types of cheesecake, and I have gotten four different types of cakes. They tasted homemade and not like the prepackaged stuff you would get from a bigger grocery store. I have made this place my go to for my weekend sweets. I highly recommend it.

If you are looking for some take-home comfort food during this pandemic, I recommend this spot. They don't have dine-in service yet, but you can call them for a nice big family take-home meal. Place an order from the regular menu and do curbside pickup or delivery through DoorDash. They feature one per week. Pickups are on the weekend, Fridays and Saturdays.

You can place the order at any time of the week. It's a great concept if you ask me. Home cooking without the work. I've personally eaten here a handful of times and enjoyed the food every time.

Don't know much about the history of Independence, MO? Crazy enough, there are some awesome facts about this Missouri town, other than it is an awesome place to live!

To start off, yes, Independence was named in honor of the Declaration of Independence. That was an easy one, but did you know it is also the home of the cemetery Jesse James's late brother, Frank James, is buried? It was also the host of two civil war battles in 1862 and 1864. Both of these battles took place around what is now Independence Square.

Independence also has a sister city, Higashimuryama, located in Japan. We have streets named after each other, and even celebrate the same festivals to keep up with the tradition!

Had an amazing time at Main Event over Spring Break. We paid $10.95 a person for unlimited play in the arcade. Make sure to check out their website specials. We arrived around 4:30 p.m. and it wasn't too crowded. By the time we left it was getting busy but they were doing a good job of regulating play times so that there was not a huge line at each of the games. Tons of food choices and lots of places to sit so that parents can keep an eye on their kiddos while they play.
