Kansas City, Kansas, also known locally as KCK, is a city that is rich in history and has a very diverse population. KCK is the third-largest city in the state of Kansas and the county seat of Wyandotte County. It is part of a consolidated city-county government known as the "Unified Government". KCK was a vital town that connected westbound travelers to the Sante Fe, Oregon, and California trails, including Lewis and Clark during their historic westward journey. KCK was incorporated in October 1872.
