Liberty is a city located in Clay County, Missouri and is also considered a suburb of Kansas City, Missouri. Its close proximity to KCMO means that the residents of Liberty can enjoy a local home-town feel, while also having access to the cultural and recreational advantages of a big city. The city of Liberty has the honor of being recognized in August 2011 as the 7th Best Place to Live in America by CNN/Money Magazine.

William Jewell College, founded in 1849, is a nationally recognized undergraduate liberal arts college and also hosts a myriad of cultural events such as music, performing arts, and theater. The Liberty Square offers an interesting assortment of retail shops including antique and gift stores. If this doesn’t suit your taste, simply hop on one of the major highway systems for quick access to Zona Rosa or The Legends outdoor malls.

Liberty was founded in 1822, 18 years after Lewis and Clark passed through what we now call Clay County. Liberty is the home to seven historic districts and over 240 preserved homes and buildings including the historic Liberty Jail Site, the Clay County Museum, and the Jesse James Bank Museum.

    Come party in the Liberty City Hall parking lot on Tuesday, Sept. 10th. From 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. there will be equipment displays from the Liberty Police and Fire Departments and the Clay County Sheriff. A bubble party will be ongoing and there will be inflatables for the kids to play in. This camp runs July 22 - 25 at the Community Center, 9:00 to 12:00 p.m. Campers will build awesome models based on different LEGO themes. Principles of STEM will be taught and all campers will bring home a mini-figure at the end of the camp.     Is your child wanting to learn the game of chess? Are you wanting your child to learn the game of chess? Then enroll them in the KC Chess Club lessons available at the Liberty Community Center July 29th - Aug. 1st from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Beginners and advanced players will learn strategy and tactics while having fun. Daily activities will include casual play, chess lessons, training exercises and national rated competition games. Each student will receive a chess workbook, medal and chess set.     The eclipse is coming, the eclipse is coming! Monday, April 8th the Kansas City area will experience a 89% totality at 1:55 p.m. as the moon passes in front of the sun. What better place to watch than at the Capital Federal Sports Complex just off 291? There will be plenty of parking and wide open skies for optimal viewing.
