The $10 ticket gets you bier samples, a souvenir glass, and a behind the scenes look at the operations.     Trolley Run
    The Trolley Run is an annual four mile fast, downhill race that starts in Waldo at 75th/Wornall and ends at the Country Club Plaza. This is a fun race that has many participants and is for a great cause. You can choose to walk, jog, or run. It is one of the largest four mile timed races in the USA and is considered a USATF Certified Course. The Trolley Run benefits the Children's Center for the Visually Impaired (CCVI) and is their largest annual fundraiser. The Trolley Run usually takes place the end of April. They are always looking for volunteers, sponsors, and donations to help towards this great cause. CCVI is a premier school that is available for students who have visual impairments.

You can volunteer at the Habitat KC ReStore Waldo location from 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. During this time volunteers help sort donations, contribute to stocking inventory, and clean up areas needed to keep the place looking tidy. Habitat KC ReStore is an organization that takes building material that has been donated and then resells the donated material to the members of the community which uses the supplies for home repairs. This helps to reduce landfill waste and the profits made help to benefit the housing program of the Habitat of Humanity organization.

    Yum! That is my description of Max's which is located at 82nd and Wornall. The atmosphere gives you that old time burger drive-in experience. My favorite items on the menu right now are the burger and tater tots. It is a small place with a few tables inside and several outside. The food is fresh and the place is clean.

    Bette Ray's is a new ice cream parlor in Waldo! Try Bette Ray's in Waldo for some delicious house made ice cream in many many flavors! They keep many on hand every day! Just in time for warmer weather!

    Waldo is an older famous and well maintained neighborhood just south of Brookside. The location is fantastic being near dining, shopping, and very large, older, and gorgeous homes. An exercise trail runs through this neighborhood just adding to the beauty and distinction (Trolley exercise trail). Friendly and appealing with a high resale value.

    When I think of Waldo I think of the area around 75th and Wornall.. The actual boundaries are Gregory Blvd. to 91st Street, north / south and Holmes to Stateline, east/ west. The neighborhood is made up of wonderful little Bungalows and Tudors . Great restaurants and shops.
