Similar to the Crossroads First Fridays but this event lasts all weekend! February 5th is the start for this month. If you are a fan of antique/vintage finds then First Festival Weekend is for you. Come out to the West Bottoms in Kansas City on the first weekend of every month from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Friday-Sunday. More than 20 warehouses will open their doors to the public for free and food trucks and street vendors will be selling as well. Starting about mid-September through Halloween you have the opportunity to buy tickets to walk through some of the best haunted houses in Kansas City: The Beast, The Edge of Hell, The Chambers of Edgar Alan Poe, The Macabre Cinema. The Golden Ox Steakhouse will return on June 8th. The original 108 year old building is completely updated with new HVAC, electrical, plumbing, vents and grease traps. The restaurant retains it's iconic status in the West Bottoms just west of the City Market. Much of the original decor has been retained. But the real reason to go is of course the steak.
