    MoDot will be working on the bridge after Labor Day and will be closed until Deember 1st. Work being done includes resurfacing/patching, and repair to adjacent sidewalk. At this time there are no plans to widen the lanes. Removing the sidewalk and widening the lanes has been discussed, but is not in the current plans.

    Looking to having some fun this Saturday! Make sure you check out the parade on the Bagnell Dam Strip which starts at 1:00 p.m. Invite all your family and friends and ask everyone to deck themselves out in green from head to toe. There will be cars, floats, motorcycles, boats, and candy......Keep in mind the iconic Bagnell Dam Strip will be closed from 12:45 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. for the parade. You will be able to enter and exit HH by using HWY 242 and they will let traffic through at gaps during the parade. The Lake of the Ozarks St Patrick's Day Parade is always a fun event.

    The 2023 Alhonna open Bass buddy tournament returns. This will be a two-day tournament on Saturday, March 25th and 26th. Stop by the Blue Cat Lounge at 6:00 a.m. Saturday and Sunday for a pre-take-off complimentary breakfast. Prizes will be awarded after weigh-in. The Alhonna Resort is the largest and longest-operating family-owned resort at the lake. Great food and entertainment, and there is something for everyone.

    The 2023 Magic Dragon Street Meet returns to the Bagnell Dam Strip May 5-7th. This car show is a great way to see a lot of classic cars in one place. They close down the strip to allow for all the cars to be in one place. Come on down and enjoy the show. You won't be disappointed!

    The Bagnell Dam is over 90 years old and has been the topic of conversation around the lake area. Ameren spent approximately $52 Million in 2017 when the structure underwent an extensive reinforcement project to replace old concrete from the dam's face. They also installed structural tension rods into the dam, anchored into the bedrock. The new project to repair the bridge on top of the dam is costing MoDot approximately $1.6 million. The bridge is scheduled to open this spring with a new 18-ton weight limit to help extend the life expectancy of the bridge attached to the dam.

Although it's not the 'Missouri Belle Riverboat Casino'. The first Missouri Tribal Casino will provide a new hotel complex that will feature a casino, restaurants and entertainment, The new project will be built in multiple phases with an estimated cost of $60 million.

    Bring in the Food Trucks
    Food trucks are likely coming to the City of Lake Ozark! I'm personally hoping someone brings the Taco Truck, yum! The Lake Ozark Board of Aldermen approved the first reading of an ordinance on June 8 that allows food trucks within the city limits. Due to C-1 district restrictions, the food trucks would not be allowed on the strip but could sell within the city limits.

    St. Patrick's Day Parade
    St. Patrick's Day Parade will be held on Saturday, March 13th! The much-anticipated parade is finally here so get on your green, grab the family and the lawn chairs and come enjoy the kick-off of the season. The parade starts at 1:00 p.m. with over 140 entries, so you'll want to come early to get your spot in line along the Bagnell Dam Strip. Great fun for everyone!

    Record lows of -18 in February caused a major power demand in Missouri. The Bagnell Dam is almost at the maximum generation level. The dam's eight generators can discharge between 40,000 and 50,000 cubic feet per second. That adds up to 215 megawatts to the grid. Ameren told customers they should not expect any planned outages but asked residents to conserve their electricity.

    Five ways Ameren suggested to help are: set your thermostat at 68 degrees, turn your thermostat down at night while sleeping, and unplug nonessential appliances. Avoid using large appliances such as ovens and dryers; and with electric hot water heaters, reduce the temperature setting. Every little bit we can do during bitter winter temperatures helps!

    The "Boats" Must Go On
    Marine dealers from around Lake of the Ozarks will be headed to Overland Park Boat Show. It will feature all types of boats, cruisers, runabouts, performance boats, ski boats, tritoons, and PWC's.

    If you haven't visited the strip lately, the new development "Malted Monkey" Sky Trail and Restaurant next to Tucker's Shuckers has given us another option for the winter season! Malted Monkey in the "Winter Season" is now the Sushi Monkey. The Sushi Monkey offers sushi, of course, Japanese beers, wines, and Sake. They also offer amazing Ramen dishes and side options. One "On Season" approaches the Sushi Monkey will return as the Malted Monkey.

    Magic Dragon Car Show
    The Magic Dragon Street Meet car show is this weekend! Great free family fun seeing these amazing hot rods and classic cars.

    The show officially begins on the Strip Friday, September 11th at noon and will run till Sunday, September 13th. Judging for the event will take place on Sunday, September 13. The awards ceremony will take place on Sunday, September 13 at the Lake Ozark live stage at 1:00 p.m.
