On October 2nd, I had the privilege of attending the ribbon cutting ceremony and open house at the Blue Springs Fieldhouse, a new sports complex here in Blue Springs. It is located at 425 NE Mock Avenue, Blue Springs. It is conveniently located just west of the Adams Dairy Landing retail complex. The Fieldhouse Sports Complex opened on September 28th, 2015 and is operated by the City of Blue Springs Parks and Recreation. It is an indoor facility that houses over 76,000 square feet of recreational activity for the whole family. It was previously Sports City, a privately owned sports complex. The City of Blue Springs acquired the property in October 2014, and renovations were funded through a private donation to the city. This is truly a state-of-the-art sports complex. There are four, hard surface courts for basketball and volleyball. There is an indoor, artificial turf field for soccer and training. There are two walking tracks, of which one is hard surface and the other is artificial turf. The facility also houses a (stationary bike) Spin Studio, a Dance Studio, a Yoga Studio, and three multipurpose rooms for meetings and party space. There is a top notch locker room for getting ready or cleaning up after a workout, an indoor playground for the children and the entire facility offers free Wi-Fi access throughout. You can get a monthly membership through the Blue Springs Department of Parks & Recreation, or you can get a one-day pass at the door.
