Average sales prices have shown a slight increase year-to-date, up 2.3% to $366,375, while the median price rose 2.4% to $325,000. Although there’s been a small dip in the number of closed sales and pending contracts compared to last year, inventory has increased by 11%, giving buyers more options. Homes are spending an average of 45 days on the market, which is just slightly longer than last year.     Have you ever wondered what it would take to be a police officer? The Liberty Police Department has a Junior Police Academy that shows youth some aspects of police life. The program will run July 14-18, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Some of the topics covered with classroom learning and hands on activities include: fitness, patrol tactics, criminal investigations, traffic safety, self-defense and SWAT techniques. There are a limited number of openings and applications are due by May 12. Applications are available at the front office of any of the Liberty Middle Schools. The applications must include two recommendations, signed releases and waivers and a short essay.
