El Paisa offers a super locally owned feel to it as soon as you walk in. Prepare to be greeted by the server or hostess and be seated right away (unless you are on a weekend night). We had wonderful service, the salsa is yummy, and the loaded burrito was perfect for us to split as an appetizer. If I am out that way, I will definitely return soon. Thank you so much to the fabulous staff. Visit the link below for location and hours.

Lone Jack, MO, is a small town in Jackson County, known for its rich Civil War history and rural charm. Named after a solitary blackjack tree that once stood in the area, the town was the site of the Battle of Lone Jack in 1862, one of the few Civil War battles where both sides claimed victory. Today, visitors can explore the Lone Jack Civil War Battlefield and Museum, which preserves artifacts and stories from the conflict. Despite its small size, Lone Jack offers a close-knit community, excellent schools, and easy access to the Kansas City metro area, making it a desirable place for those seeking a quiet, historic setting with modern conveniences nearby.

If you're searching for a new Mexican place to eat at El Paisa in Lone Jack is the one! I find that family-owned restaurants always have a more authentic taste and better flavors. The chips and salsa at the beginning of the meal are the perfect examples of how their food is better than any chain restaurant. This small family business recently extended its roots into Warrensburg MO and I am eager to taste test that location next time I'm am showing houses in the area.

What a pleasant surprise this was to stumble upon. I remember passing this adorable farmhouse and thinking it would be a great home to own with a few kids and a progressive farm. I really never thought of converting it into a coffee shop. However, I think the owners were spot on adding this gem to the great community of Lone Jack, MO. This town has so much to offer from its people, schools, and a large area for homes. The only thing its missing is a few more mom and pop places like the Lovett. I had the pleasure of enjoying a great cup of joe and lunch with my mother in law. We tried the chicken salad croissant and the veggie chipotle cheddar panini. Both were excellent! Looking forward to stopping in again.

  • First, a great read, "Gray Ghosts of the Confederacy" by Richard S. Brownlee, describes this historic event. Visit the Lone Jack Battlefield Museum and Soldier's Cemetery to unlock the mystery of why Kansas and Missouri have such a vivid state line border. From 1860 to 1865, these two states were fast and furious with guerrilla warfare during the American Civil War. Many Missouri families were driven from their homes as a result of Order No. 11 for aiding guerrilla fighters, as well as commerce destruction of telegraph lines, railways and robbing of mail coaches. Kansans and Missourians raided towns on both sides of the Kansas/Missouri border. These events made Missouri one of the deadliest states for war casualties during the Civil War. Many lost family, homes, property and fortunes over raiding that went on in both states.
